MarkoH01: But wouldn't it be possible (and hopefully not much more expensive) to try to get the already existing other languages? As far as I know the publisher - in this case SE - owns the rights to one game and a certain amount of languages (in this case English only) but could it be that SE does not allow that the version with other languages will be sold on GOG? I always thought that the rights to different languages versions can be negotiated with the developer of the translation? Or am I completely wrong?
Grargar: I don't know. Maybe the rights to the localizations belong to other companies and Square-Enix doesn't find it particularly profitable to negotiate for each language. Even truer if the localization part wasn't done by the IP owner, but by a local distributor.
If SE really has not allowed GOG to use the translation from other distributors then I guess GOG really isn't to blame for this and of course there may be some situation when you just can't change it.
However I really hope that GOG tries every time as hard as they can. Just a few minutes ago I read here in the forum another post from a German who states that he just won't buy anything in which the German language is not included on the game card.
I guess I am lucky that I do understand english but there are quite some remarkable German dubs out there which I really would want to have in my collection. The new "Outcast" version which brings back the german language officially is one prime example another would be "The longest journey".
