P1na: I noticed Cyberchief's infamous pirating thread had disappeared too. That's three highly downrated in a rather short time, pretty picky glitch it must be.

And now, if you excuse me, my working time finished so I have no reason to keep putting up with you all. I'm leaving.

Grargar: There was another thread deleted months ago when some guy, apparently inspired by an academic article written by someone named Gandhi or something, said that he was canceling his Witcher 3 Preorder, because CDPR's actions (namely DRM-Free and free DLCs), were leading to the collapse of society or some other Twilight Zone scenario.

Seriously, you may understand the word "spam" narrowly as advertisement bot-created threads. But, an awful lot of people use the term more liberally than that. And without any way to differentiate why you are reporting the thread, the spam function gets overused.

On the other hand, I'm not very concerned. I don't really think we're losing anything of lasting value.
Actually I used to think of spam the same way - threads that "spam" very wrong ideas and miss-information, rather then advertisements.
I know at the wishlists those are generally only ads, but In more then one case I considered bickering (such as the DEMAND for steam) nothing more then spam. I didn't report, but I wouldn't be surprised if some Gog fanatics who shared my opinion did.

What we are losing is the puns! As we can see clearly in the example right below, it is most definitely a loss to the comunity (not to mention the sacrifices endured by the likes of F1ach). without it why do we need Sachys and TinyE? XD

Sorry snowkatt it's not me, it's the forum! it negated my edits - this is the 3rd time I'm trying - will it be the charm?

Still not - 6th - I think I know why it doesn't work - It can't quote a post that was published AFTER the one being edited. well it worked.

Yes - should be fixed now, even if I had to go over it manually to show all the way I wanted it
(other then the second post to show my quoted first, at that point I just gave up trying as it was close enough ;)

Yeah, I try to not have too many quotes in a post, it can really screw things up and trying to fix it seems to exacerbate the problem as you have seen just now, at least we all know what you meant now :)

Honestly, GOG... Either turn off your automated spam delete function, or disable the spam button for people who're abusing this function to delete opinions they don't like. You can see who's doing this, so, please, do something about it! It's getting ridiculous!

OK, another thread just disappeared on me. And I had just posted something funny on it! Considering the huge amounts of downrepping, it was probably due to spam reports again.

This needs to stop, IMO. No matter how low ratted or spammy the OP is, threads shouldn't automatically disappear. Except if it's actual spam, as I don't want to see it, so it's not a simple matter. My personal suggestion would be to not delete a thread that has a certain number of replies to it. Even actual spam from a bot can (and has already) spark a conversation, and I don't like getting those deleted.

So if a post is flagged as spam, it gets deleted automatically. If it gets flagged as spam, but there's conversation going on in it, it shouldn't disappear. Maybe hide it from the forum, quarantine it in a way, but leave the URL alive for those already participating on it?

Anyway, thread to exchange ideas on the subject. We can create a wishlist item with our suggested solution, and GOG will then go and fix it for us. Because that's what they do, fix the forum. Like with the search. Right?
Wow! A thread just disapeared now. The one where you commented to me about my complaining about neo-feminists getting me low repped and I replied I guess it depends on how outspoken one is. I guess I was too outspoken. Or someone was, anyway ...
