Possible. It is also possible MasterCard and Visa have changed their systems to make it more easily known. Or it's possible you banks changed policies or are simply paying better attention. Difficult to say without contacting the banks to ask them what changed. I'd argue despite the coincidence that it is still more likely something on their end than GOG's. But possibly GOG changed their reporting.

Their bill processing actually goes through Britain, not Cyprus. So between billing in the UK, headquarters in Poland, and incorporation in Cyprus, they're pretty much international wherever you happen to be.

yeah they bounce all over Europe though I *think* my bill says Cyprus. US companies seem to care about implementing fees a touch more. I believe foreign transaction fees are less common in Europe - especially I would imagine for other countries in the Eurozone.

The last I bought a prepaid card from my bank, they warned me that Visa does charge an international transaction fee. What did you use to pay for your games?

Seems unlikely, if gog account was in euro, it should then be called conversion fee, and you would be billed in euro (it would be marked as such in your credit card statement). As for the location of gog bank, it's always been in Cyprus, as some banks mark the payments as fraud since the beginning.

Both Poland and Cyprus are in the Single Euro Payments Area (harmonization of payment processing) and in the European Economic Area (single market), so for all banking purpose, its like one single country.

So the consensus is nothing at GOG changed, and my three different credit card companies all three changed their policy regarding foriegn transactions within the same month of each other after four years of no fees???

I will repeat. Bought here for four years. Hundreds of games. NEVER a transaction fee. Used several different credit cards from several different banks. NEVER a transaction fee from ANY of them.

Now, all of a sudden, after four years, ALL OF THEM have changed and are charging a foriegn transaction fee.

I'm sorry folks, I don't buy that. Between 3 different banking companies just out of the blue all changing a policy regarding transactions I've done for four years within the same month of each other and GoG changing something on their end that resulted in all 3 companies changing and starting to charge a fee, I can't help but find the latter far, far, far more believable.
