You know that really is a big problem in this country, too many people reading and studying and learning. I'm surprised he has time to hang out and posts in here what with all the book burnings he must attend on a daily basis.

Hiding behind academic history means relying only on one's ability to repeat everything he/she was told in a classroom and believing this makes him/her automatically smarter, wiser, and better informed than everyone else.

I've got nothing against intelligence in itself or being able to repeat statement or follow orders with precision since there are times and places for that like taking a math test or working in an assembly line. That being said, education in academic institutions is insufficient and one needs to do one's own research and analysis.
Multicultural zealot refers to someone who believes that everyone should be able to speak only his/her own personal language regardless of which country he/she is living in or what they are doing in that country as well as demand that his/her personal foreign cultural values should become the standard in his/her new home country.

In other words, multicultural zealots are the same people who believe that US public schools should be required to teach in not only English but also the first language of the immigrant student meaning that US public school would be required to teach not only in English but also Spanish, Cambodian, Korean, Portuguese, and basically every other language and dialect in the world. They also are same people who believe that pushing out the culture of one country to make room for the culture of another country just because of some immigrants' demands is somehow "diversity" or "enrichment."

Agreed but there is a fine line between doing "one's own research" and making it up as you go along in order to suit your needs. Granted that isn't necessarily a bad thing; Stalin did that and lived to be an old man not to mention still in power to his last breath.

Also comments like "Face it. We who support a common language for the Untied States are way wiser and smarter than you can ever predict." are nothing more than threats/insults the likes of which should be expected from your average twelve year old. It ranks right up there with "I know you are but what am I" and renders any further comment you make in this discussion invalid, at least until you apologize for and or retract it.

There is obviously something far deeper that using a specific language for a specific song, that much is clear from his ramblings on illegal immigrants and "multicultural zealots".

I'm shocked at the level of stupidity here to a point I think it's best for those who argue for a common language to just give up the debate. Talking to a wall is a waste of energy. Sooner or later, this thread will turn into a "Fuck you, no fuck you" type of thread or something similar but with more passive aggressive insulting.

It's really easy. Take the world multicultural and then add that word to zealots. So multicultural zealots = People with excessive zeal when it comes to multiculturalism. Personally I think infinite9 should be calling people in favor of no common language, multilingual zealots instead of multicultural zealots. A country with an official language can still be multicultural.

I'm the opposite of a conservative. And my position in this thread is not a conservative position. It is a common sense position and if you had to put it somewhere it is a liberal position, a left wing position because liberals and left wing people want progress. They want the world to be a better place for all. There is nothing conservative about wanting everyone to be able to communicate with each other in this country. There is nothing conservative about wanting people to be united instead of divided by languages. You are the one, fighting for a conservative position, constantly bringing up that a long time ago, some people who lived in what is known today as the USA didn't speak English but instead spoke Spanish, German etc. And even if I'm wrong, and my position is seen as conservative by the entire world, agreeing with the conservatives when it comes to language doesn't make me a part of their group. I will never be a part of their group.

Someone who favors all change no matter if they are good for the country or not is simply a retard. That doesn't make you a liberal. If the government was thinking about deporting everyone who doesn't speak enough English, you'd be against that change too so then your position would technically be a conservative position.

There is no excessive zeal for multiculturalism, or multilingual for that matter. It's a fucking commercial singing a song in multiple languages.
