Update: I was removed from site because I am too experience and they want to hire more people to train up. WTF?!?!?!

FUCKSHITCUNTBALLS! *AHEM* sorry about that.
You may be worried about losing your job, but It's a joke to your employer.

Can't get worst than that as far as bad jokes go, right?

Hope you keep your job or get a better one, so that the joke's on them.
I blame your inability to appreciate hip-hop! ;)

ChillyMonkey: I don't know how the job security laws (if any) are in UK, but from your description of events it seems kind of fishy..
Unless it's changed over the years, I seem to remember that there is no security for the first 6 months. During that time an employer can fire you for any reason. Perhaps it's changed over the last decade.

In other words, you're too expensive. They want to pay someone less and can't really get away with paying you less.

LOL.. they are the worse!
I'm sorry for you, but really.. that move seems almost from a comedy clip or something..
I don't know how it works over there, but it sounds like they're not trying to fire you. It sounds like they're trying to make you quit and not have to pay for your unemployment.

I wouldn't put it past them but I am already getting minimum wage. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to drown us out with foreign, cheap workers. Not to sound cliché but it's quite common practice up here.

That is what I was thinking. They've got another thing coming. My mother was an evil genius, I learned wisely for shit like that!

If they're getting your higher experience at the legal minimum wage, then maybe this isn't what you think it is. I mean, if they can have your cake and pay cracker prices for it, why would they ditch that?

So maybe they are trying to come up with something more suited to your experience and skill. If there are other departments that could benefit from your skills, you could try shopping around for other positions within the same company.

Last, if you think you may actually be getting fired, then there doesn't seem to be much to lose by asking about their plans for you - in as positive a way as possible. At the very least, it would let you know what is actually going on.

Just trying to see the other side of things, as the situation may not be as it seems.
Your supervisor is just testy because you'll get HIS job soon.

Well yeah, that is a good way of looking at it I suppose. It's better to not jump too far into it and wait and see I suppose.

Are you sure? The 6 months was specified to cater for probationary periods. I cannot believe that such necessary periods would be made illegal.

Ah... paying them off the books, perhaps?
