They better goddamn give us free stuff, It's been down for almost 4 weeks now I think.
As long as it's up and running to some extent before Portal 2 gets released...
For people who have PS+:

Is there anything that we can download from the PSN store (like dynamic wallpapers) that will not be deleted once our free PS+ month by Sony expires?
I'll believe when I see it. First it was supposed to be out for a couple days, then they said it would be up within a week, then they said it wouldn't be up for another month, now they are going to bring it back two weeks ahead of the most recently announced schedule? I am not at all confident that Sony is even capable of meeting a deadline, let alone beating one.

Perhaps the problem was Sony used Obsidian to code the PSN? I appologise.
I'm in no real hurry for it to return, but I know that many are. That being the case, I hope it returns soon. In a busy world, a man should not have his recreation taken away from him.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again: They'll have to due better than offering free services that I wouldn't pay for in the first place. That just stinks of a trial period promo. There are a few DD titles I would be happy for. Too bad Section 8 Prejudice is still TBD. At least I'll finally have a shot at the Portal 2 DLC. I don't know about you guys but if I don't play a console title for too long I lose interest.
I bought a new PSP go a few days after PSN went down for 64 euro. Supposedly I get 10 games free (purchase PSP Go action) already from PSN, and then hopefully 2 games I like from the get 2 free thing now. Not bad for signing up for PSN shortly before PSN went down(to help a friend) xD

In the USA, gamestop is offering $100 off a new PS3. Must be a power-up pro member which is $14.99 annually. That's still $85 off worst case if you're not already a member.

Americans are also getting a year of online fraud protection. Presumably you'll have to give all your personal information to strangers but hey one lot already have it...

They won't give anyone stuff for the downtime, I'm sure. They'll give stuff to the people who had their information stolen, but nothing for the downtime itself. I've been as affected by the downtime as everyone else, as I bought a PS3 just a few days prior to PSN going down, but as I hadn't registered with PSN at the time, the only way I've been affected is by the downtime. And I'm pretty sure I won't get anything.

You won't get anything, but those of us who have accounts will. Two games and a month of PSN+.
