So what's the problem with shutting down tech support, release some FAQ / common issues thread and move on?
If developers bitch they can't sell their product for 20 EUR it means they shouldn't make any business until they learn something about economics first.
It's a time when hundreds of games are released every month. Most of them are not worth 5 bucks.
Adjusting the price to customers expectations should be the first thing you do.
For example - dungeons of dredmor - damn cheap ass game and succesful.
Revenge of the titans devs are amusing. I can't see how they think 20 eur for tower defense game is accurate. They were wrong. Simple as that.

People who judge a game's price on GOG by comparing it to a price on another service should take into account that (a) GOG sells the game DRM free, which the other service might not, and (b) GOG often sells the game with extras that the other service might not offer.
That said, I'd regard some games on GOG as overpriced even after taking this into consideration. However, I don't see any reason to complain. GOG and the publisher make an offer, and I as the customer am free to take or leave it. There are many excellent offers on GOG, especially when sales are considered as well. For the games that are priced higher than I'm willing to pay for them, I simply hope that their price will drop sooner or later.

kavazovangel: I'm only looking from one side, the devs' side. Ungrateful bastards will always be ungrateful, and they will always want to buy a product for less, no matter what happens to the company.
I understand that most people don't care about supporting developers, but games and developers shouldn't be turned off just because a similar game was 50% cheaper or something similar.
Your missing the bottom line. They make more money. Getting a game on a Steam sale is the best thing that can happen to an indie dev. I understand that most people don't care about supporting developers, but games and developers shouldn't be turned off just because a similar game was 50% cheaper or something similar.
The sheer amount of games being sold on a sale offsets any "lost full price". In DD there just about no "fixed costs" and the steam/gg/whatever fee is usually a percentage of the sale price. If a game that is reduced in price by 75% sells five time more copies than it would if not, then they make a profit. And usually it sells ten times as much as it would otherwise.
And, apart from all the money, the game gets more know, more people will at least try it and the company will get more well known. If a dev can't handle the success, it's their fault. Princec is like of of those guys that complain about higher taxes when they earn more money. In the end you have a bigger profit and that counts.
Again, if a game is sold for 75% off at a Steam daily deal, that isn't bad for the dev, it's good for them.

Fair. It's mostly the first game that I think is way overpriced. I personally think they should bundle 1 and 2 together, but lowering 1 to 5.99 would also be ok with me.

Anything above $5 is too expensive for me.
My idea of an ideal date is the dollar menu, in that case I've dated my best friend a thousand times.
When it comes to video games, $5.99 is my limit :P I'm poor
Edit: Can't believe I can't spell 'date'

MoO3 is a special case. If GOG paid everyone ten bucks for downloading it, it would still be overpriced.

Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods is the really special case. If GOG paid everyone ten bucks for downloading it, it would not only be overpriced but also a crime against humanity. As it is the number of people getting tormented with it will be minimized and that is a good thing.

Yep, I'd have to agree this has greatly slanted expectations. People don't complain about 10 dollar XBLA titles, for example (10 dollar DLC is a bit steep, but compared to the spate of recent 15 dollar DLC that's even starting to look cheap).
No one actually "buys" MoO3, they get it as part of a bundled weekend deal.

I think this, is the main argument by people who say so usually. Although qualitatively the game may well be worth 9.99, a lot of people will simply go for the cheaper option in a lot of cases. And with more and more retailers starting to carry the same games as Gog is, the more pronounced this problem will become.

jefequeso: wait... have we really gotten to the point where we're criticising Steam for its LOW PRICES??
I mean, I can see what you're saying... but come on.
You haven't been reading if you haven't seen this criticism. The expectation that games will be on sale for a deep discount 1-3 months after release may have drastically lowered release day sales figures on the PC. If true it would be a small wonder that devs would primarily target the console platforms. I mean, I can see what you're saying... but come on.
Agreed, HoMM 2 is the best HoMM, hands down.
