This is a way of thinking I truly find disgusting: the monopolization of injustices, deaths, psychological and physical problems; and the hierarchization of sufferings.

Eating disorders are not solely a woman issue when 20% of anorexics are men. Body shaming is not solely a woman issue when skinny men, fat men and insecure men are also oppressed by the actual body standards. When confronted to these grave problems you have to consider the victim, regardless of the gender.

A sad consequence of this one-sided way of thinking: domestic violences against men are still viewed as uncommon or highly improbable even if numerous reports proved the contrary. Men who complain of being attacked at home are often ignored by the police who prefer to believe that a woman is the real victim. There are very limited refuge places available for men who have experienced domestic abuse, most of the women refuges refusing men.

Equality in rights but inequality in repression and consideration, based on a stereotype. And these sorts of discriminations exist for both men and women.

A problem being more prevalent to the female population doesn't mean that it becomes negligible when it also touches the male population. And vice versa.

So, when I hear "women problems are more important than those of men", it makes me frown. Everyone should be treated equally when confronted to suffering and injustices.

The American Enterprise Institute is a right wing think tank. I haven't watched the video, just realize that there's likely an inherent bias to the video.

But, it's definitely true that there's a war against boys in the US. I had to sit through countless feminist propaganda lectures that were disguised as talks on gender equality, but were laced with unsubstantiated wankering on about how bad women have it, without any actual evidence being given. The citations would be taken out of context and no time was given to consider whether or not any of the figures were true.
Indeed, and what I find to be disgusting is that the women's rights people will outright ignore things when inconvenient. It's inconvenient for them to have half of spousal abusers be female, so they rationalize it away. Apparently the studies we had in the US dealing with it were compelling enough for there to be an epidemic of domestic violence against women, but those same studies are less clear about men. Never mind that the standards were the same for both men and women, but it wasn't convenient.

Likewise 1/3 of girls being subjected to sexual abuse by puberty is an outrage, but 1/5 of boys is sort of just collateral damage and not really worth worrying about.

It demeans everybody who has been treated like that to have the advocates applying double standards. Either it's a serious issue or it's not. There's not going to be a solution to any of this as long as it's a tool that women use to abuse men with.

Either way - I guess this explains why people who play a lot of video games have sex often, starting out early. Especially if they "hold more stereotypical attitudes about gender", as mentioned earlier... OK - it's all downhill from here, I refuse to believe a word they say beyond this point.

I can take bishop Berkeley seriously, or even give the theories of David Lewis the benefit of doubt, but gamers being "pro-rape" simply doesn't "click". I won't even bother verifying the methodology and numbers of that previous study - if your conclusions are insane, it's your responsibility to say "I know this sounds crazy, but I have solid evidence for the sky being purple!". Mentioning such absurds in passing is simply insulting.

I get the feeling that "rape supportive" means not buying into the extreme views being held by advocates. The truth is that rape is a category and there's things that are technically rape where the survivor doesn't consider it to be a big deal, to ones that leave a person scarred physically and emotionally for life.

I've noticed that advocates tend to marginalize people who were raped or sexually abused who refuse to toe the line. As if their experiences are any less valid than the more graphic ones. Which is unfortunate, because it leads to an active disincentive for a lot of those crimes to be reported and it also distorts the public awareness campaigns to focus on relatively rare attacks rather than the typically more common date and acquaintance rape problems.

Like I've said, who are we to tell if women are complaining to much about their exposure in games as an example?

I can dig up several things that show that women are extremly objectified in just games, but nobody here would change opinion or attitude.

Take what happened at Dreamhack for example, a woman shoved a banana down her throat and was then covered in milk by a man while the guys in the crowd cheered. How can somebody say that this is not twisted?
