RIP Ralph Baer. He deserved to get a lot of the credit and recognition that went to Nolan Bushnell instead.

Heh, I didn't know that he invented "Simon". I only knew that pong was originally his design and it was plagiarzied by Atari. Will have to read up on this guy's work.

I was just wondering, has he won any Nobel Prize awards? If he hasn't he definitely deserves one. If they don't have a category for the work he's done, they should make a new one. Ralph Baer was a true legend and inventor and may he R.I.P.

Thats debatable... Tennis for Two was made in 1958, but you have games like Bertie the Brain from 1951, NIM or Strachey's Draughts from 1950.

Depending on how you define video game, arguable the first one is Cathode ray tube amusement device (snappy name) from 1948.
