Elmofongo: I am pissed off they did not HDfyied REmake, 0, and Outbreak :(

And don't give me the bull about the first 2 being Exclusive to Nintendo, RE4 was a Nintendo exclusive and it did not stop them from Multiplatforming it :P

Punished_Snake: I never managed to play =, I found it boring because you must chit-chat with our partner (if he die, is game.over), you must drop supplies on the floor...I hated those thing, I only completed the train section, then I gave up on this.
I sort of like the putting items on the Floor thing rather than put items in a magic box that can transport items from one place to another :P

I never had a problem with the partner system heck give them the right items and they almost can look out for each other.

Punished_Snake: 20€, preorder available now on Steam.
But...the price is too high.
Especially taking into account that this German distributor has been selling physical copies of the original game for 10€ for years, maybe even only 5€ eventually (and no, the box doesn't even have the distributor's logo - the only difference to the original release is that this was sold only in a crystal case). The game wasn't worth more than 10€ when I bought it in 2007 or 2008, now with improvements applied which seemingly the community could have done they want to take 20€ for a digital version. That's madness.

Crosmando: They don't care about those RE games because they aren't action-games like RE4 and it's offspring. Capcom have said that they're only interested in making action-games these days, so it's not surprising. I think it was the Capcom CEO or whoever who actually used the phrase "We want the Call of Duty audience" when referring to RE5 I think it was...
And Leon Kennedy, goodness sake can people stop glorifying him he was not anything special in his first appearance in RE 2. He was just an ordinary rookie cop that happened to look pretty :P

This is why I happen to like Chris Redfield better, I miss his REmake model already:

pimpmonkey2382: 4 is when they jumped the shark and fell off the wagon IMO.
I think that occurred before RE4, somewhere around the time when the villains began having bases in the Antarctic.
RE4 reminds me of the decadence of the RE saga, it all start from this one and went downhill since then :(

No they jumped the shark, then went back then jumped it again, then jumped 2 at a time with just RE 4.

Code Veronica?

That would be Code Veronica where the villian is a potentially transvestite, insane manchild who also owns a private prison island thats also a military base. Its one of the lesser Resident Evils that brought back painful voice acting (probably because they let Sega handle it) and introduced silly things like Wesker being one with the Matrix :P

But still one thing good to say about it is that its better than Resident Evil 1 Original on the PSX and hell RE 6 for that matter, but I probably would not replay it because of how also hard it is and of course Steve.....

Have you ever played the original PC port? It's got to be one of the worst ports in history. I'd rather pay the extra for a game that actually has lighting and shadow FX.

What a wuss. I love his RE5 version where you're scared that his body isn't gonna be able to withstand the pressure of all his manliness and an explosion of pure testosterone and guts is gonna occur any second.

I did and the lighting/shadow issue was fixed soon after release in an official patch which was a free download.

And then I applied some huge texture mod and when I look at the trailer of the HD version I get a feeling I had a sharper textures in the original game. :P

I'm surprised to be honest. I wasn't expecting another PC port. Let's see, what do we have here...
"First time on PC in HD".
Incorrect. Original port already allowed it.
"60 fps"
OK. Now this is interesting because all versions released so far were locked at 30 (correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure that I've read reports about latest console release running at 30 fps).

I really enjoyed RE4 so I'll probably end up buying it (again). Still, I would be more interested in Devil May Cry ports.

It wasn't a great patch. You also have the problem of low resolutions. No mouse support (doubt there will for the HD version) and other shitty little issues. I remember using it then just giving up and buying a gamecube.

I would rather pay for one that is a proper version of the game. That version was an incredible pile of shit that should never be allowed to be sold. £15 is a good price for a classic.

My old 16" square monitor had a bigger resolution than the maximum settings for the original pc version. I would barely call it HD! lol

If I have to comprimise than I will take RE6 Chris Redfield:

1920 x 1080 is definitely HD.

Edit: Correction - I just checked 1920 x 1080 was not supported, 1920 x 1200 was.

Dang 15 gigs of space?!

I am surprised 2 gamecube disc were worth more than 10 gigs.

Anyway I be surprised if Konami and Squere will release other games in HD for the PC like Metal Gear Solid 3 and Final Fantasy XII.
