I haven't played it, but I do notice that the devs are constantly updating the game with fun new shit as free updates, so that's pretty good.

The Youtubers beat it to death, but it is actually a decently fun game. It's not worth $10, though. By actually trying to complete stuff, I managed to finish everything within an hour, and the new updates probably add another hour's worth of gameplay. For $5 bucks, though, I'd say get it if it interests you.

All you've done is proved the point that gog doesn't focus enough on classic games releases. Also I'd consider a classic game to be 10 years plus, though 2004 at a push is fine for me personally. We are in 2013 after all. Sure I'd prefer pre-2000 but that's my preference as that's my era.

People will complain because they feel let down that gog isn't focused enough on the classic games and that's what they want. It does feel like gog is slipping from being 'Good Old Games' which is what brings most people here in the first place. Yeah I get that more work goes into getting hold of them, getting them to work etc but that's all the more reason why gog shouldn't have rushed into indie etc which really seems to be their core push now (with funding etc).

Gog tried to allay our fears and claimed they wouldn't loose focus on the old games but It feels like gog has abandoned the people that made it a success in the first place and decided to focus on the easier and lazier, more modern releases.

It does look like that. It isn't. In the year you joined (2010) GOG had released 35 pre-2K games (and one more that was released on GOG 10+ years after its original release date). There were a few more games that one could consider classics (IWD 1 and 2 released at 9 and 8 years old for example), but I'm only listing games 10+ on GOG release date.
So far in 2013 (the "year of decline" according to many), GOG has released 37 pre-2K games and if we count 10+ years old, the number rises to 50. So GOG is releasing more classic games, and more often than it did before. But when people see a game they don't want, they ignore the others.
Daw, too bad this isn't made by the other simulator people. I was really hoping for Forklift Simulator to be here.

As for the games rejected, is it bad to just want GOG to be a one stop shop for everything?

What is a "forklist"? :P

lol noob.

Honestly, they've had "less than spectacular" games since release, and they've had released games that people thought were "too new" since before then too.

Your moaning isn't going to stop the money machine.

LOL, What?

I... have no idea how to feel about this release.
SHIT! WHAT A BUMMER!
I saw the thread, got all excited, and then realized I had misread it! FUCK!
And here I was all excited to start playing the game I had been wishing for all these many months I've been here.

(didn't read most of the other posts here)

This could be a good game, all I've seen is gameplay on YouTube. However, it does feel kind of weird seeing it on GOG, almost kind of like a "cash grab" for a fad game (similar to Slender). It's like if the wise old man realizes all the kids think he's so cool, so he goes out and buys ripped jeans and a skateboard to try to fit in even more rather than acting as a role model.

Maybe it is fun, though.

You make some interesting points. I'd still like to see 2 classic games a week and have gog highlight it's work with classic games a bit more (the secretive thing really doesn't work for them anymore) but I can understand the current focus on indie funding etc to try and actually get the market before bundles and steam. You've got me looking at it differently anyway; I just miss having the tidy and focused good old games website. (I hate how messy and poorly organised catalogues are in digital distribution sites.)

Gog was a treasure trove of nostalgia when I joined, now I'm nostalgic for GoG. Rose tinted glasses maybe.

Lol noob? Wow that's pretty much a universal sign of idiocy and immaturity. Congratulations!

Haha, if only there was a "forklist" simulator. Sitting alone in a dark warehouse taking down lists of forks.
Clearly the coffee had not kicked in yet.

I'd play it!
Think of it, you are in charge of a silverware empire! Do you have the guts to succeed or will you fall flat on your face, an embarrassment to sellers of fine cutlery everywhere!?
Hehe, I could have sworn the thread title didn't read "Jump the Gun Edition" when I looked at it a few hours ago. Did a Blue with a sense of humor (well, they all have) change it?
