cmdr_flashheart: 48 hrs at least for a response. Are you playing on Win 8? Rune Classic is not compatible with Win 8

ymo1965: Using windows 7 64bit. All other GoG releases have worked fine, this is the first to give real problems. Have tried everything. There's only so much I can do. I have tried the usual compatibility mode and a few other things found online.
Your best bet is GOG support now, g luck.
Runs fine on my win 7 64.

You have sent the request through the contact us link, and you do have the automated e-mail reply, right?
My experience with the support is very good so far. Had a minor problem some days ago and they answered and solved the problem within one minute (!). That was by far the fastest response I ever got from any company.

Yeah it's odd they;re taking so long to reply. If you see a passing blue (like Judas maybe?) you could abuse your forum privileges and nudge them with a big pointy stick to find out what's taking so long.

Guess I will have to sit tight and wait another day or so. I did receive the reply-email when I contacted them. Not much else I can do really. thanks for all your replies though, appreciated!

As I said in my last message, I did receive the reply.... so yes (again) :)
Well, still not had any kind of response from GoG regarding a refund. All this talk about refunds and they are pretty lukewarm on the issue. If they don't get back to me soon I won't be buying any games from them again. Everyone says they respond quickly but my particular issue is proving otherwise.

Though I can understand the frustration, a one time thing doesn't mean it's proven otherwise when everyone else gets quick support.
inb4 GOG support post about OP never contacting them..

Hehe ^^ I don't know why your query is taking so long, but possibly they're just super busy because of summer sale stuff. Patience is your friend.

Or submit another request, if you're so inclined.
