HereForTheBeer: I have a 17" Dell XPS i7 that gets almost four hours on the Intel GPU. Doesn't sound any more feature-laden than a mid-to-high-end laptop.

Edit: either way neither of us is going to buy one, should it make it to production, so meh.

GameRager: Of course you forget the smaller form factor of the fiona(and possibly smaller/lower capacity battery it contains.). ;)
Umm, I DID forget about that. Heh. But they'll come to the realization that an i7 is overkill for this type of device and will scale it back to an i3 or i5. And even then nobody will buy it. But at least they're thinking of something different.

That's the one.....thanks mate. :)
Heh, I wrote an article on this thing on my blog as well - I don't get it, no matter how I look at it. Sure, you can hook up a keyboard and mouse but it looks silly and holding it makes you look like an idiot - who on earth will use that to go out with? PC gamers won't want it, casual gamers don't spend that kind of money on game-related stuff, and console gamers are allergic to gaming under Windows.
LOL I always see the Razer stuff and I wonder, "who does this really appeal to?" I imagine that they have a small, niche audience for a lot of their out-there tech, but I imagine they stay in business thanks to their mice and keyboards.

That one mouse with the 12 thumb buttons is probably pretty nice for MMOs.

Hipsters will possibly buy it, as well as those who just HAVE to have the latest of everything......and there's also gaming oddity museums.

12 thumb buttons? What if you slip and hit the wrong one(seeing as they are likely very close to each other) all the time?

Hipsters wouldn't be caught dead with this thing - it's ugly and looks clunky and uncool. As a gaming device it might not be the worst but come on - it's a tablet with a gamepad glued on. It looks ridiculous!
So what do people think about the laptop they've supposedly been on the verge of releasing for ages?

I was planning on getting it as soon as it's available, but I'm having some second thoughts about buying a laptop from a company that's never made one before.

And what about that won't hipsters like exactly? ;)

It doesn't have an apple logo or come with multi colored interchangable face plates.

Knowing Razor they'll add the last bit, and one option will come in shiny chrome colored aluminum.

Haha.

But maybe this leads to a peripheral for 'ordinary' tablets, one that might make for some interesting driving, flight, and platforming dynamics, and would also be easily removed for normal tablet use. Seems silly to poo-poo the entire idea just because the initial implementation looks to have significant obstacles to becoming a mainstream product.

Why not just use USB peripherals then for tablets that are already made?

Also sorry but some products just plain suck......everything can't be a winner after all. Remember the DVD rewinder?
So it sucks. To you. Doesn't mean that it can't lead to something interesting or useful to those who are... not you.
