I am a little worried that this site's games might not work, having a file missing or what.. to all those who have downloaded games, how was the experience? I see a ton of games that I would like to have and under 10 bucks sounds like a steal.
thanks

I got 40 of them and all work well and without problems.
Some games might have compability issues with windows7, but you can always ask in that games forum subsection if people experience any problems before buying.

Everything here is complete and even more complete. Fear not.

Every game I've had has worked without problems. Check on the game's compatibility section at the top of each game card to make sure that your OS is on there. If it is, then have no fear.

If it's not, then it still might work. But it might need some tweaking.

If you can't get a game to work, ask the community. I've heard of a few rigs that for one reason or another just couldn't get it to work. But it's very very rare.
planescape torment is what I am interested in... on download it says its compatible w both win7 versions.. I think I will give it a go

You may want to look at community mods for that game -- especially if you have a widescreen monitor b/c the original game doesn't support widescreen monitors.

Gibberlings built something just for that purpose. You can learn and download more here:

i use win 7 and every game works absolutely fine m8
go for it and enjot the marvels of gog :)

If you have damaged discs of Warcraft III, you can register your cd-key and download it from Blizzard. Otherwise if you expect them here, don't count on it.

The battle.net download page completely ignores all Blizzard games earlier than Starcraft however, meaning Warcraft, Warcraft 2, and Diablo are not available. Of course, none of those have serial keys except Warcraft 2 battle.net edition.

It'd be nice if they were re-released (at either bnet or gog), but yeah, I don't count on it.

I managed to install and run games easily and without problems that didn't run on Vista before and in one case I was finally able to play a game that I didn't even get to run on Win98 before although it should have. The files are all complete and up to date, no worries there. I have no experience with Win7 but a friend of mine was able to run some of the GOG games on Win7 that weren't even listed as compatible.

Usually all games work fine. Sometimes there might be a problem on your end and you might have to do some tweaking but you'll probably manage to run them with the help of the GOG community (the official support currently isn't as quick and thorough as it could be, but there are lots of people here on the forums who will try to help you, if worse comes to worse).

My experience so far:
- I had to download a dll and drop it in the folder of my Syberia & Syberia 2 installation in order to run them because the original dll on my computer obviously didn't match the required one. Very easy fix, once I learned about it.
- I had to tweak the graphic card options of Beyond Good & Evil and adjust the resolution so it would run smoothly.
- I had to find the right resolution for Psychonauts to minimize the issue with cutscenes being out-of-synch (my graphic card is pretty lame, other people I know didn't have that problem on their superior Win7 computers)
- The FMV videos in Gothic weren't playing (black screen, only the sound audible), it could be fixed by changing the game's ini.
- Arx Fatalis had the same known issues here than everywhere else until Arkane Studios provided a new patch. GOG patched the version available here and now everything works fine for me. That's customer service for you. :)

Apart from that, all other games I purchased worked perfectly (and I'm quite content with the ones listed above now, too).

BTW, in the highly unlikely case that a file *should* be missing or there's any other problem on the end of the provided files here, GOG will remedy that once they learn about it and you will get what you paid for. In that regard the support is quite reliable, I think.

I have about 20 games and no problems yet. the only thing i had a problem with was the opening of Lords of the Realm 2 being discolored but that was only the opening and that was a issue with Dosbox configuration.

Hell even with pc games I haven't got here on GoG the community has helped me with some problems. Like this one time I could not install this game I bought at walmart really cheap. So I asked about it on here. Within a hour someone gave me the solution.

I currently have almost 100 games from GOG. I download and test them as soon as I buy them. So far there has not been any that I could not install and run. System = AMD 64 Vista Home Premium, Video = ATI 5680, 4 GB RAM

Gosh. GOSH! And I know there's even people with more than that. Kind of makes me want to see a statistic on how addicting purchasing good old games can become, erm, I meant how many games the average GoG customer can claim as her own ;)
I think I'm going to actually open a topic on that (after a quick forum search) given that I see little chance for the GoG team to provide such a neat page for the number nerds ;)

Some of us has filled in the Google Docs spreadsheet at the Members game wishlist, containing not only our personal wishlists, but also what GOGs we already own.

Yeah, not only does Planescape work flawlessly there are even patches that can improve the screen resolution and user interface too. You shouldn't have any problems with that one.
