Fujek: Gosh. GOSH! And I know there's even people with more than that.
Well, I remember that during 2009 Christmas sale, when GOG were giving away free codes, some couldn't claim a reward, because they had entire catalogue.

Lou: I currently have almost 100 games from GOG

Fujek: Gosh. GOSH! And I know there's even people with more than that. Kind of makes me want to see a statistic on how addicting purchasing good old games can become, erm, I meant how many games the average GoG customer can claim as her own ;)
Well, it's still a cheaper hobby than a car, I guess. And a more economic addiction than chain smoking. ;)
GOG support is not what it should be, users, however are very helpful. If you're worried about a game in particular, check that game's forums, the various posts should help you quickly understand if there are any common issues and if they have resolutions you can use yourself should you encounter them.
^ What he said.

Miaghstir: Some of us has filled in the Google Docs spreadsheet at the Members game wishlist, containing not only our personal wishlists, but also what GOGs we already own.
Neat, thanks for the link! Pity that only very few people seem to have used the chance to list their game catalogue.

That's somewhat... sick :p

I'm not exactly sure on that one!
With currently 105 games at 9.99$ (=1048.95$) and 161 games at 5.99$ (=964.39$), you'd end up with a total cost of 2013.34$ for the complete catalogue (not counting on any promotions). You could likely enough already get you a used car for that amount of money *winks*. As for cigarettes, I had to search up cheap ones with the first shop a quick google search turned up (I personally don't smoke, so I'm lost on the average fee here), but for 14$ per 200 cigarettes, you'd end up with 28762 of them. That should last for a bit, or I see a rather 'black future' for your lung *grins*.
No problems at all. I've got (only) 8 games from GOG, and they work fine under Win7/ 64bit. Love the site, though hopefully their catalogue will expand.

mahlers: I am a little worried that this site's games might not work, having a file missing or what.. to all those who have downloaded games, how was the experience? I see a ton of games that I would like to have and under 10 bucks sounds like a steal.
thanks
Very good. Would buy again. Have bought again. Tens of times. GOG made me poor(er)! @_@

You may run into problems (This is PC gaming. Not even the guys at GOG can ensure every machine is configured and equipped to run every game they sell, so if you run into problems, just try to be cool about it), and may find support less than adequate. However, the community forums and basic internet browsing will solve most of them. Most of these are likely problems you'd find elsewhere anyway, you'll probably find the least problems getting them from GOG.

For one thing, DOSBox games come pre-configured, all games are DRM-free, and there are no missing files. Wish I could say that about some DOS games on other digital download sites, and the missing music fiasco of the "id Super Pack" on Steam.

GOG is totally legal, and everything you get here is for keeps. Storing back-ups of your game for future use is encouraged. You can save the installers on CD (and you won't need the CD in to play them) so they'll always be in your collection, regardless of whether GOG is still around, even if you have no internet connection, and so on.

I have Planescape Torment here. It's excellent, works like a charm. I have tried both it and Baldur's Gate (both games run on the same engine) on the Vista and Windows 7 computers of friends, and they seemed to run just fine. You shouldn't have any problems.
