FiatLux: Since GMT stands for "Greenwich Mean Time" then what time do they use locally in the Greenwich district of London then ? GMT or BST ?

bazilisek: As spindown says, GMT in winter, BST in summer. The terminology is admittedly stupid, but it isn't that hard to understand.
I just wish this whole DST nonsense was stopped already.

ButI I were rather merely just "joking around" ;-)
(you know since the area of Greenwich is in Britain so it is both like a part of a name of a standard and an actual physical area)
Crosmando: I rather like Daylight Savings, I prefer it being dark around dinner-ish time, it's more fitting, also I seem to get into the "game time" mood when it's dark and it gives me more time.
Actually , when switching time here (DST) last time, they published (or referenced to) a study saying that the time switching stressed a lot of people so much that it were cause to a higher rates of heart attacks/strokes , I think it were...

Also they had a piece about a local guy who refused to "observe DST" so his clock were not set forth and back when others did do the DST , so he would have to compensate everytime that he had an appointment. I am not sure but I think that the guy also met at diffenrent time at his work than others when they "observed DST" so he were like "living in his own time" ! ;-)
