Hillsy_: Thanks for the feedback @Arteveld. Hmmm...50FPS is good. A constant 30FPS should be sufficient really for this game. With your specs Arteveld, have you pre-ordered?
avatar
Arteveld: Yes i did. ;) Though, i'd get it even if the game ran like crap. I mean, i bought Witcher 2 on day 1, and i'm way below the minimum specs [i can't even see the floor in game], but that didn't stop me from getting rid of my money. :>
Gonna pre-order it. Will risk it too :)

haha yeah, I just hope we don't crash and burn :)
Finally put my pre order in :).Been wanting to for a while hahaha
If anyone is interested I've just posted data from in-game character generation.
It says on the official Legend of Grimrock website that if you pre-order , one of the bonuses you should get is the custom made grid paper to print out for mapping.
I did not get that one when pre-ordering here on GOG.com

Is that only for pre-order from the developers website or what?

look closer, it's somewhere in the extras, I'm sure of it because i have it.

I think it's the one labelled as "map".

Oops silly me, you're right. It's in a folder in the "map" rar.
And that's a pretty sweet grid paper!

They are hardly the new blood though :P The people who made the game are industry veterans. One of them worked on Max Payne & Allan Wake.

i ment indie companies.
looking to the polished state of the game is easy to understand they are not new to game development.
Indie companies need to be supported.

Max Payne is an awesome game! The second one too.
I really can't wait for this game.
How many of you are going oldschool mode and mapping the dungeon floors with pen and paper? ;-)

Not to sound argumentative (though I suspect that this will sound like that, I'm not actually strongly disagreeing with you), I think we need to focus on supporting "good" indie devs. The scene is getting horribly bloated, and while a lot of gems have been released (Trine, Aquaria, Eschalon, Frayed Knights, Blackwell, Jamestown and so on. I could list a lot more), there have been a lot of "me too!" games, games that brings nothing new or interesting, games that just feel derivative and inferior. Hopefully the indie scene will stabilize in a while, when people start to get a bit more selective in what they chose to support.
Now judging by how well received Grimrock has been, by how much the devs have listened to people, and by the subtle improvements to the formula that they have mentioned, I do think this sounds like one of the games that should be supported, and I don't feel bad about having pre-ordered the game.

And yes, Max Payne was great. Both 1 & 2 felt fresh, interesting and were a blast to play. I'm glad that those people are still around, creating games.

And anyone who enjoys slightly old-school CRPGs, that are not slaves to the old-school conventions (i.e. the ones that pick the good parts out of old-school and drops the bad ones) should check out Frayed Knights as well. It is a Wizardry-like game that I thought was great.

TheEnigmaticT: ...
Since today is the last day of pre-order and this is fresh title, not old, can I get the info at what time game will be released? At midnight?
