I'm well aware of the subscriber agreement and that they reserve the right, as will most any service in their agreement, to terminate usage of it. Have you ever played a MMO? Same thing. They reserve the right to stop offering their game at any moment at their own will. Man those guys sure have a god complex. To think they could stop doing something that they are offering in the first place. It's insane.

And I have no clue if you have more games than me. It's quite possible as I've only just broken the 400 mark and there's people with easily over a 1000. Doesn't make your opinion any more valid or invalid however so it's kind of besides the point ...

We are not talking about some freakin' MMO here , were talking about a company that reserves the right to close your complete account at their wims....

You have every right to say what you want on the matter, and if you feel that way feel free to do it ^^ It's just that in MMO forums especially it's not uncommon to see perfectly valid, yet unpopular, arguments get buried by people who start to slander the person making the argument, and completely skipping the argument as a result. Isn't that the point here? It's essentially the same thing, except you're not paying monthly for it. And yes, they also close accounts 'at their whims', except just like Steam, they practically never do unless there's a good reason to.

Yeah ! , except that you are so completely in denial (or void) of the fact that we could be talking about a substantial amount of money invested at Steam if one have many games....
And apparantly you haven't heard about the people at Steam that have had more or les simple misundersatndings there and had to beg to get their account back and then be told that next time they wouldn't get it back at all...

Anyhow, Legend of Grimrock looks pretty good. I'll wait until it's out before I decide whether or not to buy it though.

I've seen plenty of these sob stories and at least half of the time it gets proven in the thread that they were actually doing things that deserved it, and almost 100% of the time you only hear *their* side of the story.

And nowhere does your remedy thing state that it allows no room for disagreement or disputes on Steam. It basically just states that in the end, their word is final. It doesn't mean they don't hear disputes or act on them. There's payment disputes and all sorts of things on a daily basis and a lot of them simply get handled.

But, to be fair, i have no clue what other 'remedy's' one could bring in to a dispute. I assume they mean lawsuits and the like. My first thought was that you have no right to chargeback your money in a dispute and keep using the service for instance. That would seem to be the most direct use of it, and I know there are people that disagree with that. Then again a lot of people do that before even disputing anything with Steam, and I do believe they should do that before doing a chargeback.

I'm not blaming you at all -- I quite honestly don't think there's anything wrong with having a large Steam library. But don't you think the picture you're painting here is rather peculiar? Because of a single Steamworks-required retail title, you were hypnotised into a monstrous Steam binge which made you purchase a thousand games until you finally saw the error of your ways?
