That's like saying:
"As we know - gravity is a phenomenon at the core of Newtonian physics, which is the most commonly accepted form of physics."

They both share a common trait: they are the highest level of understanding available to most people whose education in a particular field ended on high-school. They are also both outdated though decently accurate.

On a more personal level - I'm highly suspicious of anyone pretentiously flaunting ‼SCIENCE‼ while dropping XIXth century-ish names. I treat them with the same level of caution I do people who claim to be religious yet imagine devils as pitchfork-wielding, tar-stirring creatures (as opposed to angels who don halos and flap wings).

somegamer786: Possible evolution on our hands?

Narushima: Well it's either that or you're talking out of your ears and don't know jack about insects.
Mh... what's your job again?
I work at a small business my family owns.

I rarely see ladybugs, but Arteveld showed me a picture of a few of the ladybugs in the US and #18 looked similar, but I explained why I though it was mutation (less spots, blacker, narrower). Then JohnnySovereign told me they might be a more agressive species.

Let's see what happens.
There was some website when you could ask a question like that, and a bunch of biology nerds would give you the species.

I can't recall it's address though.

Nothing new, though. It's rather some rare species, nothing really evolutionary, methinks.

There's over 5000 species of ladybugs in the world, I doubt your's is anything special.

This isn't Pokemon, OP. You don't just find wild animals and notice immediate evolution. That said, put the little bugger in a capsule and if you ever get approached by some suspicious people, or a wild animal, you know what to do.
The OP talks about a "mutation" - more specifically, one "on his hands". And says that it involves ladybugs. Interesting mental image here ... :)

Ugh, you've reminded me of the lotus seed nipple.

Whats up with that I heard people say, "I don't know - therefore aliens." but I don't know where it came from.

A Discovery Channel (or maybe History Channel, yeah pretty sure it's History Channel) documentary about crazy people believing that everything is the work of powerful beings in the sky - in this case, aliens rather than deities. It's actually pretty interesting and some of the connections are pretty cool.

I clicked on this expecting to see some mutated hands.
I came into this thread thinking OP had grown a pair of spikes or something on his palms. I was immensely disappointed that this was not the case at all.

If you don't know where the "therefore Aliens" meme comes from, then that's because the aliens control your mind and wiped any memories of the meme.
