koima57: Well, if you really want the correct answer, please don't believe what you get told, check your information with the source to see for yourself about its legitimacy. Here, "if they repent in the end" will be too late since the end is Death, and we don't know when we die, so the time to repent is now, while we can as we are living..
I'm confident God is Judge to weight who is worthy of Eternal Life and who is not, that people threatening others won't make it forever. Should they repent and strive for change during their lifetime they will be new persons and sure, most welcome in "my" heaven. Not before, not as "mobsters", not with a simple "I'm sorry" while nurturing ill intent toward others through extortion, thefts and murders. Anyway, absolute respect to our Pope for His "easy way" standing against all odds (and sniper bullets..) in the cradle of Mafia, and my last contribution to just another flame bait thread as I knew it was.
jamotide: But you just told me the same thing, if they repent before death, they'll join you in your heaven.
Sure, because it is our Faith. What you do not seem to understand is that you can't fool God and "fake" repentance, and when you really repent, litteraly turn back to God, you are able, actually granted by Grace to become a new person, not anymore living by your own set of rules and for your belly, but for God and trying all you can to please God by following His Word. Little by little, to each their own pace but if it succeed, no more murder, thefts, bullying, etc..
With true repentance here, the person will get back to the victims they made to find their forgiveness, helping them all they can to repair the wrong they caused, cutting any contact they have with their "mob", find a honest, legitimate work.
But I get your post is aimed at mocking me because "mobsters" can be approved by God as well, which I don't mind, it's their past and I trust they will change for the better should they repent, they have just about the same chance to be saved as I do, fairly enough.
Such is the Grace of God, any atrocity one has done can be forgiven, even murder, rape and such awful crimes, the real name of sins by God's Laws.. That is terribly difficult to accept, especially if you are a victim of another human being that significantly wronged you, and that's the real "Trial of Faith" ... I do face it currently though I'm a "lucky" one, but that's too personal, and the Faith I, we have as Christians.
The only unforgivable sin is to actually reject the only possibility to be saved that exist, that is accusing God of wanting our damnation anyway in and as a permanent disbelief, taking the blood of Christ for piss..
