Well, A month or so ago I played Notch's "Prelude of the Chambered," and was pretty inspired by the game's condensing of a dungeon crawler into a little half-hour play experience. I decided I wanted to try doing something similar, but with an FPS. The result is Pit: The Bite-Sized Shooter, which I just released about 2 minutes ago:

Each level has a distinctive visual style, aided by a minimalist mono-color scheme. Combat is fast-paced and arcadey, with lots of projectiles to dodge and enemies to mow down. I'm quite proud of the sound work I've done, as well as the visual effects that accompany firing weapons. The average playthrough time from testing has been around 20 minutes.
FEATURES:
- Short "bite-sized" campaign made up of 8 different levels, each with its own distinctive flavor
- Visceral sound design and visual effects bring gun battles to glorious low-resolution life
- Hyper low system requirements and a small file size make it easily portable for play in computer labs and low-level home computers
- 5 unique weapons and 7 deadly enemies
- Deep scoring system and many secrets lend replayability
- Fun cheats, including the ability to wield "golden" versions of each weapon, that come with everything from increased firepower to the ability to destroy the environment
- Full mouse control
I'd really appreciate it if you, my fellow GOGers, would try it out and maybe spread the word around if you like it. And since the game is so short, I'd also really appreciate it if you saw it through to the end :3.
Also, post your high scores here, just for fun.
EDIT: here's a screenie
