Fantasysci5: Eh, I'm horrible at making decisions, but I think I'll pass. I'm not always around internet, and I like playing by myself-without even an AI teammate. I'm still looking for GTA IV to go on sale, and Uplink or Hacker, so I'll pass on this one.
Twilight: That's the beauty of Guild Wars - player interaction only when you want it :) The whole game is perfectly playable and very fun even solo. Actually, I would say, that since you can now create the whole party of 8 yourself and have your own NPC heroes fill all the roles, it's even easier, comparing to unpredictable human players.
I'm usually playing singleplayer games, so this is definitely my favourite multiplayer game :)
edit: oh, just noticed you prefer solo, without even the AI. You need a party to survive in Guild Wars, so I'm not sure if you would enjoy it that much in the end
Guild Wars will easily last a new player dozens of hours, and yes, you pretty much have to have AI teammates. Granted, there are player builds that will allow you to legitimately solo certain portions of the game, but you are pretty much required to have a party (AI or other players) to complete the game in its entirety.
One thing that might be off-putting for some of the newer players is the extensive amount of time and effort that it takes to complete the titles and achievements for the Hall of Monuments, which has rewards and benefits in Guild Wars 2. Prepared to spend like hundreds of hours (yes, really) to complete some of the titles. For instance, its taken me 1,000 hours to get 19 titles, and the rewards for GW2 max out at 30 titles.
