I don't think it'll be that expensive. $300 - $350 maybe? It's as powerful as a PS3/360 isn't it? Can't be THAT much more expensive than those.

I'm disappointed that they aren't talking about the specifications yet. That is what will determine how good it is, not all this gimmicky touch screen nonsense.

Sure, it's getting full third-party support now, but if its hardware is only just above the other two it will be ignored by developers as soon as true next-generation offerings arrive, just like the Wii before it.

I'm thinking $400. That tablet won't be cheap. Tablet + console = major money.

I hope that you will be able to surf the internet with the tablet. Then I can save my cash and buy a Wii U instead of a tablet computer (as I would just need one for browsing anywhere in my house or in the backyard.).

and as for the higher resolution: on a technical level the Gamecube could have pumped out 1080p on most of it's games, Nintendo just didn't want to shell out for a larger storage medium (actual DVD disks) and HDMI (which charges royalties if you want to use it) .

It will be wireless. This sort of technology has been done in the past (e.g. WirelessHD). The technology itself is nothing special--it's down to whether developers will make use of the screen in ways that justify the controller being like this.

I tend to game sitting up, which means to use the stylus I have to hold the DS in one hand and the other use the stylus on the screen. There's also the problem with games that want you to use the stylus to move or interact with the environment. The hand and stylus naturally cover up part of the action.

It just comes down to personal preference. I'd rather just use the D-pad and buttons then a touch screen.

On the subject for price, apparently Reggie said they release at a similar price to the current prices for the PS3 and 360. So, about $200-$250 then (PSVita money, in other words).

So who's going to have a special place just to put this one controller, where you don't have to keep constantly wiping the screen clean? Going to need a case and a screen protector, wipes, etc.? All with that Nintendo Approved stamp on accessories.

I meant more the fact that they'll push a special case to keep it in, like the DS, Gameboy, and all Nintendo handhelds that have come before.

Nintendo knows how to push accessories.

And I would have to find a special place for this controller; the rest I can just stack up and toss in however I want, but none risk getting a screen scratched.
