gbaz69: I remember reading about it installing a rootkit on machines, maybe that isn't inside the newest uplay application installer.
Does it still instal the plugins to browsers?
JMich: Sigh, more FUD.
What uPlay did was install a uplay:// protocol, same way as steam installs steam:// or the GOG Downloader does (gogdownload://). The problem was that the parsing of said protocol was off, and one could run arbitary code. Was patched a week after it was mentioned.
That is not a rootkit, that is a protocol vulnerability.
Let me dig up the report of it.
