Silrog: Very kind of you to split my message. Others previously bemoaned just the price, I added further stuff.
Sorry if it sounded like a personal attack; it certainly wasn't; I apologize for somewhat misdirected rant. It was that "common" point that I felt need to comment; the rest of your post ("Why support those who...") was pretty reasonable.
/about your specific problem: I already own PG2/
I apologize once again. It wasn't directed at you specifically. It was for the "I want it but won't pay that much" crowd.
/They wouldn't sell their old games at all if not at GOG/
And most of them actually don't. We have a miserable fraction of really old (pre-1997) games released on here. Reason? There are hardly any serious money in it, as the publishers see it now. We can only hope GOG can persuade them another way, but they need conclusive figures for that.
/what is better - sell masses of them for $6, sparly for $10 or none because you only offer new titles/
It differs. There are games, and then there are games. Wargames always were a rather "niche" product - see anything produced by Battlefront. $10 is not only cheap for this niche, it's practically a giveaway. Thus from a certain standpoint of view it makes sense not to offer PG at a lower price-point - if you don't believe that it will be bought by generic masses.Similar situation is with HOMM1 and MOO3 - only collectors and hardcore fans would ever want them, thus low price makes no sense.
/you settle the "decent price" we all must accept /
It's not that we "must" do something. We "can" do whatever we choose to. The only thing to remember is that there are always reasons and consequences, and that's what's often is forgotten.
