Hell, that's even worse.

Or better, actually. I have a phone and I might have been tempted to play, while I do not have facebook. Works for me.

I refuse to have anything to do with FB, I'm glad that they've made this, but I refuse to have anything to do with that site.

I'm not sure what aspect of this requires forgetting, the fact that it's FB only, the fact that it's an online game or whatever else is wrong with it.
Another atrocity similar to what happened to Dungeon Keeper. Here is an interesting read (with footage) about DK getting anal-probed to the hilt with free-to-play micro-transaction mechanics.
I find it funny you actually have to select it. There's just 1 option, after all, it's like they're rubbing it on my face.

Actually, it's mostly prejudice, at least on my part. I haven't bothered to check anything about the game itself. However, with the track record we have, I would assume it's a cheap, low-quality cash grab. And that makes me sad.

I would hope that it's an effort to attract more attention for the game, hopefully they'll do a proper sequel. I loved the original, but there were issues that needed to be fixed. A proper sequel would be great.
you do know its on gog guys right?

I truly LOVED that article. Whoever wrote that is voicing a lot of what I've been voicing, for years. About how basically consumers today accept garbage, and as a result, garbage is all they're going to get. And it's not just true of gaming consumers, or even consumers, but that's a topic for another thread I suppose.

Anywho, thanks for that link, I really enjoyed reading that. Now I'm going to watch the videos he was referencing.

EDIT: To avoid your confusion - the classic game is on GOG, this is something new.

The problem with this things is that it doesn't make sense to me. There's this great game - flawed, but with great concept and potential. The kind of stuff that could benefit greatly from a sequel. Evil genius qualifies, I'd say Ghost master is another example. And then, in order to check interest, you make some crappy game that the people who liked the original won't like, because it's mechanics are completely different. And so they conclude that there's no market for that kind of game, end of story.

It doesn't even have to be a crappy game. It might be the best multiplayer game ever, but how exactly is a fan of the legacy of kain going to like this new Nosgoth game? What sense does it make to check interest on a single player only franchise by making a multiplayer game like that?

Oh, whatever. It's late enough, I'm going back to the hostel to sleep a bit before coming back to the office to spend a happy Sunday.

Then again, those 5 stars didn't come from nowhere.
