I just realized that I've been a member of this service for a year now as of today, and I thought I'd post my thoughts on this occasion. First and foremost, I think that GOG is the best development in pc gaming that has occurred within the last few years. The problem of DRM has spread to the point where at least 80% of retail releases require an internet connection to activate. I simply find this to be unacceptable, I have invested a great deal of money and time into my games, and being forced to "rent" games is something I oppose on many levels. My first experience with Bioshock woke me up to the problem, but my voice has never made any impact when writing to any developer or posting on an official board. Voting with my wallet has had a similar impact. When I heard about GOG.com last year, it was like dream come true. My favorite titles were available for a very reasonable price, and GOG treats it's customers like people rather than criminals who have to prove their innocence. In the course of one year, my library has grown to exactly 90 titles, including the prerelease of The Witcher 2, and I don't regret spending a dime of my money supporting the site. I've relieved some of my past favorites and discovered missed gems. So thanks GOG, for giving me a little hope in this age of restrictive DRM and I wish you continued success and growth in the years to come.

tl;dr- DRM bad, GOG good
Happy anniversary!!!!

Immoli: Happy anniversary!!!!
It sounds weird, but this really struck me more than my birthday this year, it's changed the way I buy and play my games in a big way.
Congratulations! The best part is that GOG is growing so fast that there is no telling where its going to be a year from now.

That's the great part, I'm not at all averse to them expanding to more recent games, and the Witcher 2 release is a great step in that regards, I bought it already even though my current PC probably can't run it, but I'll have the download and Beyond Divinity waiting for me either way.

Hasn't changed the way I buy games (other than me buying older games now), but it has supported the way I started to buy games.

Cheap games only, no full price release day games.

There will be a few exceptions this year though. >.>

Oh, and didn't notice it earlier, but nice pic. Guy from Darker than Black, right?
What DRM? We need no steeeeenkin' DRM!

*toss away the DRM*

You mean Hei, aka Chinese Electric Batman? That's a great show, I haven't caught the second season yet, heard it wasn't so good.
Gratz on the 1 year anniversary.

GOG is awesome. I actually hope that they DO expand into more recent titles. I have no issue with paying good money for titles if they are DRM free.

We can always wait for the price to drop if we don't think it's value to start with.

It's been awhile since I watched it, but I thought the second season was good, though not as good as the first.
