Rohan15: All right. Why is everyone hating on Oblivion and Fallout 3? If you go into a game with high hopes, then it is gonna suck. I am easy to please and I just liked the fact Oblivion and Fallout 3 changed combat styles to make it less frustrating. If you hate the game so much, mod the fuck out of it.

The problem is that they're extremely poorly designed and written. Fallout 3 got better in that regard, but Bethesda just has horrible writers, and the repetitive environments, and typical console bullshit (I'm sure everyone knows the ways that Beth dumbed it down for the console) just add up to a very bad game. It's a tall order to fix all of it, even with mods.
wow... ocarina of time one of the worst games you've ever played??? how? I mean sure you have the right to not LIKE it, thats understandable... but thinking of it as one of the worst games is... well... are you insane?

StealthKnight: Super Mario galaxy !? Please explain!
Your disappointed with the Wii? Once again I have to ask what you are playing. There is: the conduit, Resident evil 4, okami, Baroque, Excite bots, de blob, Tomb Raider Anniversary, opoona, elebits, Red Steel, Super smash bros: Brawl, Mario strikers charged, Mario kart Wii, Wii sports resort, etc. Plus there is more coming out: Cursed mountain, Murasame, Metroid prime trilogy, Juno: the grudge, Mini ninja's, Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga, spyborgs, Red steel 2, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, etc. There are plenty of games out there for the Wii, you just have to look.

I haven't played The Conduit, I hear it's meant to be decent, we will see.
Resi4, for me, I may be alone in this, but I *much* preferred it on the GC! Plus, having already played it on the GC, it's just a port... It's been done, y'know? Same for Okami. Good game but it's hardly a poster-boy for the Wii.
SSB Brawl felt like an inferior version of Melee!! It got so dull, so quickly! Gah! Frustrating! (I loved Melee btw,)
Mario Galaxy! I kept hearing how it's meant to be really similar to the old SNES versions in terms of gameplay and charm I guess. I found that it was annoying as fuck! I hated those silly shooting star sections, where you just fly about from little planetoid to little planetoid... Gah! I got the same 'thrill' from Sonic Adventure!
Mario Strikers is an awful game bro!! I'm a big football fan, I LOVE Pro Evo. Strikers shits on everything that is good about the sport! lol To be fair, I was looking forward to it so much, I played Mario Tennis and loved it (Still do) but yeah, again I was left disappointed!
Red Steel is terrible. It's so rushed! Fair play for trying, but Gah! Finish the damn game properly! Hopefully the second one will be better...
Wii Sports Resort is so dull! I hate all these shitty mini-game-y things on the Wii! The console is full of them! Okay, I'll be fair, it's good when there are a few people round, but as someone who is used to playing games like the PGR series, the old legendary Mario games from the SNES era, OoT, any number of N64 games; little table tennis sections, fucking canoeing and cycling mini-games do not cut it for me!
Maybe it's a case of developers not really being able to implement the technology properly, or just not willing to take a risk, but the Wii doesn't really cater for me at all. When I got it I had hoped it would do. I honestly think Twilight Princess is the only game I'd bother to play again from it. I'm not sure what it's like in the US, but in the UK, you go into a popular games store and the Wii section is full of shite like Dogz, Catz, Pippa Funnel's Horse Riding Shenanigans, etc. I don't even want to associate with it! lol
*Having re-read my post*
Please don't take any of this as a pop at you or anything like that! :) I got a wee bit heated because I am that disappointed! lol
Regarding Fallout 3, I was expecting it to be pretty bad. I played the beginning bit, though, and found it actually kinda fun. After I got into it for a while, though, I decided I was probably right the first time. In the sense that the first couple of hours were a lot better than what followed, I guess that makes it a disappointment to me. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish it.
Returning to WoW after 2,5 years, paying 30 euros for expansion, 20 for character move, 13 for subscription and then after 5 days understanding that is even worse than before.
Thats my most recent most dissapointing gaming moment :(
everytime a new game is released on GOG that isn't system shock 2.
hahaha, actually more like, everytime a new game is released on GOG that isn't interesting in the slightest, which has been par for course for the past year.

Oh, and Splinter Cell. I love the series, but the first one's AI was just awful.

I follow a simple rule regarding some games:
If the amount of mods I have to hunt for, download, and install are equal or greater, in terms of hard drive space, than the hard drive footprint of the original game then I am quite certain the damn game sucks donkey privates.

Let me break it down for you:
Oblivion unmodded is about 3 gigs of hard drive space. If the amount of mods I need is about as much OR more than the original size of Oblivion, chances are the damn game sucks...Is that better?

So...a 6 gig Oblivion sucks balls?

If 3 gigs is the game and 3 gigs is for the mods then it probably sucks huge rhino balls, dude.
Way to diss Freespace 2, jerk.

OdioOmnus: Way to diss Freespace 2, jerk.

Well I was talking about the more recent games not the good ones.
Also, can you enjoy Freespace 2 without mods and use them to *enhance* the original game or not? If you can, then I ned to rework my theory a bit...

StealthKnight: 1.Gamecube bad?! What games were you playing?! There are plenty of good ones to keep you occupied. Super Mario sunshine, Pikmin 1/2, Metroid prime 1/2, Killer 7, Tales of Symphonia, Baitos kaos, Luigi's mansion, Resident evil series, etc.
2.WTF?! Oot is not my favorite but it's still a good game in all area's compared to some that I have played. It's not traditional story telling but that does not make it bad. If it's not your thing then fine, but to say it's the worst thing you have ever played says to me that you have not played much in your life. I know that's harsh but seriously; there are games that are so much worse the the Zelda series.

I wouldn't necessarily go as far as to say the Cube's bad, it was just personally disappointing. There were some brilliant games and it was the only time so far I bought a console because of one specific game. However, I think we can agree that the Cube's library is comparatively compact and I made the mistake of not liking Nintendo's 1st party outings in general, so that reduces the options somewhat. Most of the stuff I had, including Tales, Baten Kaitos and the Resident Evil series would have felt really great on an older console, but for some reason the games felt subpar for what the Cube could do or what I thought should have been standard at that point. It's certainly not a bad system, the library is just rather limited and on a personal note I'd add dull, but that's more a matter of opinion than anything else.
And regarding OoT, I think I've played enough, it should rather tell you that I think the game sucked. And as I mentioned, I'm fully aware that I'm quite alone with that opinion. Almost everyone else is completely in love with the game, so I guess it's probably a good game and I'm just weird. That said, it's still one of the worst games I've ever played and that's unlikely to change. Since I was actually looking forward to it, I'd say that counts as a major disappointment. Although I really enjoyed the water temple, and only the water temple. So, yeah, I'm probably just weird.
The interesting part is that I could fairly accurately pinpoint the flaws it had in my opinion and use them as solid groundwork in lengthy discussion. In other words, I'm probably as shocked that others like it as it's the other way around. Which is somewhat hilarious in it's own way.
Splinter cell, it actually liked it the first time but it was way too linear, you've to do the only right thing to do each time, there's no player freedom. Command & Conquer 3, oh the last time I bought somethin from EA, enough said. More recently it was the last Heart of Iron completely bugged, tons of worthless micro-management that makes you more an AI helper than a player.
Though not like very much people here I actually liked Deus Ex 2, sure it wasn't as wonderful as the first one, but it wasn't that bad either, the same for Oblivion, you actually like the game for the first 100 hours.
