I'd really like to have the Elder Scrolls games here on GOG. I have got quite a few copies of them, including on Steam, but I've never felt comfortable modding Steam games (given their VAC system)... I know it's supposedly safe for the Elder Scrolls games, but still!

How exactly is VAC a problem for modding games that don't use it and are without any multiplayer?

Daw, I doubt it works for all five trillion or so of the mods I have running. It looks fantastic though.

Morrowind was part of my end of the line gaming binge. To return to it again...

It would be nice to see Morrowind on GOG. Of the TES games I found it the most immersive.

Thank Satan the torrent is finally up, I tried downloading it when it came out yesterday but they only had their own server and the estimated download time was 15 hours.
The torrent took five minutes.
Although it was probably for the best, it would've been bad for me to stay awake even longer trying it out.

It feels different to me. Like something it wants to be (Oblivion, Skyrim), but what it actually does is cheapen it in my eyes. To me, the best Morrowind was the one I played years ago, and finished it.

Yeah, some people feel that way. Nostalgia I think, the pack doesn't objectively remove or change anything, it doesn't even move around the architecture or anything like that. It doesn't really want to be Oblivion nor Skyrim, it still has the old Morrowind's design - everything is as it was and where it was, just with better textures, updated models and removed fog. And yeah, I can understand that those things were important for some people, nevertheless it's still Morrowind.

Well, obviously this is awesome to some people and I wish them all the best and kudos to the folks who made it all possible, but all those enhancements and especially the FOW is for some reason really creeping me out.

But, anyway, I'll give it a go this weekend when I find the time. Nostalgia bashing visuals be damned, I have a reputation as a gamer to uphold.
