So who else has been playing it?
I think its pretty damned awesome as an overall product, its rough around the edges, for example mousing over the active hotpoint can sometimes be a bit buggy when trying to pick things up or disarm explosives and some sections are just too hard even on easy (unless I just really suck at shooting fast melee enemies) but the really good atmosphere, creative weapons and little touches like the need for gas masks easily makes up for the occasional bit of clunkiness.
I really get a good feel of desperation and claustrophobia out of the game, it usually keeps you tense and jittery whenever you're outside safe zones (and even when you're in one at one point).
Probably my favourite part is how you have to be pretty careful with ammo, you can't empty a magazine into every enemy and then steal their ammo like in most FPS', its not incredibly rare but its scarce enough that you'll find yourself down to your last mag if you're not paying attention. I also like how there's dirty and military ammo, the military stuff is the pre-apocalypse rounds that are really powerful but are also used as currency so you literally make yourself poorer as you shoot it, the dirty rounds are the low quality stuff made by the survivors and are a lot weaker, to the extent that a hemlet will stop a headshot from being fatal unless you hit exposed skin.
Then again, the mad chase sequence when you get into armory station sort of reminds me of a postapocalyptic mirrors edge, that was pretty awesome. Also the hooker at exhibition station was fun, very practical woman.
It seems like the kind of game you'd get if russians had developed fallout and made it into an FPS
