I am wondering you guys read the PDF Manuals on your computer, Print them, or Print a portion of the Manual for usage?
I normally, read the manuals online and print off the keyboard shortcut page(s).
It's funny. I always download the manuals and just love printed versions... but I never really read them.
I have a laptop on the same desk where i keep my gaming rig.
I just put everything (manuals, etc) in a shared folder and check any game related material i need on the laptop while playing.
No exiting the game or ALT TABBING to check on stuff that way.
I never print the manuals either. Really no need for it.
- email them to self
- read on iphone.

I have a laptop available as well as running dual monitors, and usually playing games in windowed mode anyway.

I never used dual monitors, so i'm probably missing out on all the perks of that kind of setup, but i do realise that an increasing number of people are going that way. To get it on it i would have to remove the laptop from the desk. (not enough space)
I don't want to derail the thread, but can i ask you why do you usually play in windowed mode ? It's related to the dual monitors setup or something else ?
The spellfoce i got from here it's actually the first time i'm playing this kind of game in w mode, because my old 17'' lcd has a severe case of the ' 1 pixel wide vertical red line ' disease and i just got a 24'' one. I was never a big fan of the widescreen thing and i still have mixed feeling about it.

I like talking in irc and setting custom definitions for gameplay videos. why record a video in 1600x900 if it's just going to get scaled down to 800x400 ?

I see, it's the multi tasking aspect :)
Good points. Thanks

I use dual monitors at work, and it's brilliant. Never used them at home, though. Ain't got the room, ain't got the money. But for doing serious stuff like programming, it's wonderful.
About the widescreen thing. I too was very sceptical about it at first, and was a long time in switching over. Then finally, when I had to build a completely new machine anyway, I gave in and bought a monitor that my brother recommended (Samsung SyncMaster 226BW). I never looked back. I'm definitely a convert. In fact, I just got a Samsung SyncMaster 2433BW at work, and I absolutely love that too. I've been thinking about pulling a fast one and switching them around, so I can get those extra two inches at home ;-) Not that I would, mind you, but it's a damn fine monitor.
I love dual monitors and can't go back now that I've used them. I grabbed an LG Flatron W2242T on sale last fall and use that as my main. My old SyncMaster 940B is my secondary. When I'm playing games, I generally have the .pdf manual open on the secondary to any pertinent info (keyboard shortcuts or whatever).
I, too, was skeptical about widescreen monitors, but have grown to love it. Of course, now I want to grab a 24" monitor...

Well, i can honestly tell you that if it wasn't for the 1px vertical wide red line on my old LG 17'', i would never even had considerd changing to wide. Not anytime soon, anyway. I was a happy camper with the small squared format screen.
But even if my father is delighted with finally having an LCD, and he doesn't care about the stupid little red line, i couldn't stomach it.
I got a 24'' LG ( Flatron W2452V ) and while i do find myself drooling over it on occasion uttering stuff like "It's biggggg" or "It's prrrretty" i'm still having a hard time adjusting. I guess it was just a big leap, from 17'' to 24''.
And i know you're secretely devising a plot to make the switch.
Don't worry. I'll keep quiet about it. Shhhhh. :)
For some reason I enjoy reading instruction manuals... over and over and over again...

Well, that IS quite an adjustment to make. I went from 19" 4:3 to 22" 16:10. Basically, my screen area just got wider. But going from 17" 4:3 to 24" 16:10, I can imagine you suddenly feel the need to turn your head a lot, just to see the entire screen ;-)
I wish GOG just had keycards for every game so I wouldn't have to always go to the options page to see what button did what.

Doesn't solve the money side of the problem but it sure takes up less room: http://hothardware.com/Articles/Nanovision-Mimo-7-LCD-Monitors/
