SirPrimalform: Ah, I thought it was quite a 'dark' timbre, now I know why! In that case, it's even more impressive. I wish I could afford a 6-string bass, if I could, I'd get the
old '60s style of 6 string bass (EADGBE, one octave below a guitar rather than the modern BEADGC).
As for my entry, thanks for the compliment! I'm hoping to tweak the mix on mine a bit in the next couple of days (we're allowed to change our entry before the closing date). I want to improve the clarity a bit by cutting the midrange from some of the instruments.
Well, the Schecters aren't that pricey and are pretty good, although they are made with modern tuning in mind (I don't see way this can't be changed... different gauges of strings (from a 7-string set), some calibration... it should work). Anyway, the modern tuning is much more useful for chords and tapping, specially because it's all in 4ths. Just my opinion, of course.
My bass is absolutely crap (I payed around u$s100 for it new...), and it's broken inside the neck (I don't know the word in english, it's "alma" in spanish). If I get my hands on a new one (hopefully soon), I could send it to you (as in, 'free of charge'). Shipping to the UK won't be cheap, though.
By the way, I really dig your version of Zelda's theme!
