Any chance we're going to see stuff compatible with OSX? Everything I'm seeing here is Vista/XP.
There's three Fallout titles I'd be happily downloading right now if I could run them on my machine. :)
We're currently focusing on optimizing the games on Windows XP and Vista. Maybe in the future we will develop some technology to support Mac OSX.
another vote of support for OS X
I'd pay good money (as in ~$50) for a version of Civilization or Civ II that runs properly on OS X (and by properly I mean a Carbon or Cocoa port, not the DOS version in DOSBox).
i know this is purely a win/vista site, but any mac compatibility would be amazing to see here.
Does anyone know if these games will run in a Virtual Machine (Parallels or Fusion)?

We'll, we don't support Macs and I cannot give any guarantees it will work on your Mac but I've just played Fallout 2 for a few minutes via Parallels and it worked without hitch... No idea about other games though, I presume there might be some problems with the newer and/or 3D-ones.
UPDATE: MDK2 also worked fine as well... I've attached some screenshots below. I'm using Parallels 3.0 @ MB Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo /w GeForce 8600M GT 256MB. Mac OS X 10.5.4.

arc.of.the.stem: another vote of support for OS X

Here's another vote for OS X support. There's a growing market of old-school gamers who are starting to switch to macs for work or leisure.. and we miss our good old games.

That said, if you're going to release Mac versions, PowerPC support is a must for us old school Mac users.

I think every game should work using virtualization. The only problem is performance, but with most good old games, this is not really an issue.
I will try CrossOver Games as well. I dislike buying a Windows licence and have been a supporter of CrossOver and CodeWeavers for some time now. The biggest problems with games is DRM and copy protection, as they use strange stuff deep inside the Windows insides, with good old games, this could be solved and most games have a good chance of working properly. I already know that Jagged Alliance 2 should work without problems (I recently installed a CD version). Once I have the opportunity to buy a gog game (i.e. have a credit card), I will produce a screencast detailing the process of getting it to work using CrossOver Games. This would also work for Linux.

Damn, and there I thought the thread was going to be about old games specific to mac like, I don't know, this Marathon thing I keep hearing about.
Speaking of which: should gog ever get their hands on the original Prince of Persia, I remember the mac version being very similar, only with two more bucketfuls of awesome thrown in for good measure ;)

The mac version had more then the pc version??? thats so unfair :(
As far as I know, not really MORE, just PRETTIER. For instance, the prince looked like he did in sequel: he no longer wore pyjamas, instead resorting to clothes more commonly associated with arabian nights theme. It's little things like that ;)

and it appears to be freeware? O_O
From what I've read on abandonia the other day, the status of SoMI (and other old Lucasarts games) seems to have changed the moment, and I quote,

Well, the unthinkable happened: Vivendi, Activision and LucasArts have just left ESA.

As far as abandonia goes, ESA was the only thing keeping them from having some old games as downloads, so there's that ;)
