badsector:
(and yes, this is a dig on the one-button-mouse :p )
Your knowledge is outdated, modern Macs come with multibutton mice. In fact a modern Mac mouse has an infinite amount of buttons (only limited by the size of your fingers). Technically speaking these aren't real buttons but the effect of combining a multitouch surface with a mouse :-P. In practive it means you can have one, two, three or whatever buttons you want as long as you configure your mouse to behave that way.
Also Mac OS X supported more than one mouse buttons since... always and Apple's previous mice had multiple buttons too.
This "one mouse button only" myth is older than many games in this site...
Except it's no myth because the OS didn't make standard use of the second button and standard Macs took over 15 years to actively stick a TWO button mouse in the box with an iMac by default ;) Even then, it was still too complex for Apple to think that you might want to press both buttons at once! *gasp* The force is weak in you, old one. Having to assign commands to a button is not as practical as having actual context menus assigned to the scroll wheel and right mouse button so don't try to sugar coat it.
Oh, and don't argue with someone who's been using Macs for his job for 10 years ;).
Cosmo811: Being my first post, I was kinda hoping for maybe a nicer welcome. But hey, I guess not.
I said PC because nobody uses Linux for gaming. Mac doesn't (legall) run on PCs, so by PC I was generalising (on purpose) to Windows. Which I happen to have. I have a very highly spec'd Windows 7, so I'm actually enjoying Fallout and fallout tactics right now. All I wanted to know was if there were any games that DID run on both, and if there was any way to run those that didn't. The first response was exactly what I wanted. Helpful, included links, and explained itself. Everything from then on was totally uncalled for flaming.I didn't expect such a critical response from anybody here. Needless to say, it's not a great first impression of this community..
PS. My desktop dual-boots with Ubuntu, it's not as if I have no experience with Linux.
We're just messing :P this forum is actually very insult-free. There's a lot of banter going around but it's nearly always friendly.
