And yes, finally I completed this too!

I played a LOT this game about 10 years ago, collecting seven instruments. But, I can't remember why, I left this for around one year, so when I loaded up my save, I can't remember what I did. Basically I was lost in the game, I know there was the last dungeon, but I can't reach it (no internet, so I did all by myself).

Today I managed to complete this game, starting a new game, collecting 20 shells, all available upgrade from Mad Bat, all 12 heart pieces, trading sequence complete...but with a walktrhough.

I think this is one of the easiest Zelda combat side, but there are so many secrets and puzzles, the overworld is very hard to navigate, because you must retrieve a key to open a dungeon...and even when you opened it, there can be a problem (for example the underwater dungeon entrance).

But it's one of my favourite Zelda game, because it contains sidescrolling sections and Super Mario elements, like enemies and side-stuff.
A winner is you.
Congrats. Currently i am working on the first Zelda game: The Legend of Zelda on my DS Lite with a GBA NES classics cartidge.
Bittersweet, isn't it?
Funnily enough I finally got round to setting up the SNES I got for Christmas a little while ago and was playing Zelda : A Link to the Past on it. Never finished it when I owned it around 15 years ago, so 2014 is going to be the year I actually get through it!
'Grats! It's a great game :D I have both an original DX cart, and a version downloaded on my 3DS. Dunno which one I'll beat it on first. Never finished it, but I always wanted to. You should try one of the Oracle games next; they're great!
Link's Awakening was my very first Zelda game. Yeah it is a very easy game, but you have to keep in mind it was made for GameBoy, a handheld that's really not very fun to play for long stretches of time. I think the previous three Zelda games were better, but considering that Link's Awakening was able to fit such a giant adventure into such primitive hardware is really amazing. I mean, just look at what you get here compared to other GameBoy games.
No guide, DX version when I was 10. Fun game when you aren't lost.

It's a very strange Zelda. And the ending is a bit sad.
Congrats. Personally, I gave up near the end because of the ridiculousness of some of the hide the whatevers they relied on to stretch the gameplay out.

Reaching some dungeons sometimes is very hard.
Congrats man, that is awesome to hear you beat it!
I am quiet the LoZ nut, I remember holding up the box for the first game at a store here when I was rather young and going "I WANT THIS PLEASE" with a stupid grin on my face, and I was hooked ever since. I recently just picked up the Super Famicom cart of A Link to the Past from hit-japan (the English carts are a bit pricy and I got this for 6 bucks) and I'm stoked to get it. I'm not sure what happened to my English copy sadly. I remember Link's Awakening, it was one of my favourite hand-held games other than Kid Dracula, ALttP for GBA, and Yggdra Union. Up until the release of Mother 3 those were all ones I'd go back to playing a lot. Congrats again on this accomplishment and I recommend giving OoA/OoS a go next. :)
My first Zelda game; still one of my two favorites, along with Link to the Past.
