Just finished this game this very night, loved it! The atmosphere, art-style and gameplay just comes together perfectly for me. Someone said that Super Meat Boy was superior in here, I'd have to strongly disagree as I found Meat Boy pretty boring to be honest, played it for about half an hour before quitting, whereas this game I just felt compelled to finish it. Gets a bit weak around the factory levels but then there's that bit, blast can't say any more without spoilers, but I just gaped at that point!
Taleroth: It's a bunch of simple things that make death really not matter to the player.
Indeed, most other games I'd have ended up screaming and ragequitting the amount of times you die in this game, especially if you then have to spend five minutes getting back to where you were, but the checkpoints were spot on I think. And it's not like dying is necessary to finish a puzzle by trial and error, rather it's to see how the puzzle/trap plays out I thought, so you can see what happens.
