Crassmaster: Here's my question for people who are playing Left 4 Dead...how much life does it look like it has? What I mean is this...my concern with the game is that I'm not sure I'm still going to want to play it in 2 months. Does it have long term potential, or does it seem like something you could see yourself getting bored of?

This is a great questions, because unlike The Orange Box, this game is 50 bucks and cannot compare to the value that was the orange box. I too am interested, because unless the price drops I will probably ignore this title until it does.

Just played a quick game with Urb4nZ0mb13 and Emualynk, it's working fine :)

Left 4 Dead is AWESOME!
I didn't like orange box, for a lot of reasons, some "behind the scenes" reasons too, but it was not good for female gamers, at least the clan I play with (all girl clan) barely even touched it. This game kicks ass, other then who's fighting to play Zoey. Valve already said they would be adding more to it, and I know I will be adding to it, and a couple more girl models as well. Plus, it's just fun to play cooperative with friends. I already own like 100+ fps games with dm/tdm etc. Only a few cooperative FPS games exist on the PC. I think if you want a cooperative play experience, an experience often overlooked, this game is for you.

God, I have to agree.
Insanely fun. Probably the best co-op game around at the moment.
I liked Orange Box very much, but I'm going to *love* this game far more.

sven coop is pretty good too.

Skreczi, Resil and I tried the demo a few days ago. If it wasn't for the lag (which was unbearable on the second level) we'd buy the game in a heartbeat. For now we're waiting for some official info saying "there's no more lag in L4D". Maybe there were only a few overworked servers for the demo, I dunno, but warping zombies kinda steal the fun from a game like this. ;)

Yeah, I'm usually at 150~. This is boring, I can't play on expert because of this.

I haven't had any trouble with lag. Played it all day up until an hour ago.
Still can't beat any of the finale's on Advanced. :(

yeah this game takes some serious teamwork, especially on versus. I've played it all, and I've seen one person army mentality in games like America's Army and a couple other tactical shooters where people are supposed to play as a team, and I've seen people succeed at that, even I have.. but in L4D you can't really do that at all. The AI Director punishes you in cooperative if you stray too far and seriously a lot of stuff is just too overwhelming for one person. I'm also talking about expert mode. I've barely touched the others. In the versus gametype (one side survivors one side infected, everyone on the opposing team will take you downtown to chinatown if you run off. I also want to say, I like quiet versus servers were people do great things by just using the actual in-game commands to talk to one another, but it's rare. In Cooperative campaign I see less voice chatters though.

That's great for teamplay with foreigners who don't speak english :D A very simple way to communicate quickly and flawlessy (except the warnings, but the characters speak on their own for this (so except the lastcall warnings)).
I'm growing used to communicating with other people through voice chat (I like trying to imitate british accent :P), thing I never quite did because I never found it useful enough. In l4d some stuff can happens really really fast and if you don't send the signal at the right time you can get overcrowded easily :<
