BloodDoll: I also want to say, I like quiet versus servers were people do great things by just using the actual in-game commands to talk to one another, but it's rare. In Cooperative campaign I see less voice chatters though.
That's great for teamplay with foreigners who don't speak english :D A very simple way to communicate quickly and flawlessy (except the warnings, but the characters speak on their own for this (so except the lastcall warnings)).
I'm growing used to communicating with other people through voice chat (I like trying to imitate british accent :P), thing I never quite did because I never found it useful enough. In l4d some stuff can happens really really fast and if you don't send the signal at the right time you can get overcrowded easily :<
