It's funny how some games can become well known because of the Internet. Phantasmagoria 2 became this because of the famous Let's Play by internet reviewer Noah Antwiller and the game deserves it.
APoF is the sequel to the controversial Phantasmagoria and like it's predecessor it's a FMV game. And it shows why I liked that period in gaming.
The story centers around Curtis Craig, an nerdy looking guy with a mysterious past. One day he starts getting disturbing visions and people start dying around him.
The gameplay is your standard point n' click same goes with the sound. But the story and acting is what makes this such an enjoyable experience.
The writing is so predicable and cheesy with the actors being either in the "dull surprise" or the "ham and cheese" camp that it actually pushes you forward into the plot. And the puzzles are in a league of their own, being so ludicrous and just "what" it's becomes one of the main features of the game.
Overall, Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh is a recommended buy if you want and "so bad, it's good" film, are a fan of FMV or just want to laugh on how bad your experience will be.

...Except for the impossible-without-a-guide puzzle at the end of the game.
low rated
Dude, spoilers :D
But yeah, fuck that last puzzle.

Good review. Thank you for posting it. +1
I thought you put reviews with the games, do they go on the forum first and mods post them to the game page?

Nope. It's just that game reviews have a 1500 character limit that makes many people reluctant to write them when they want to go into details.

Thanks but, wont they just get lost on the forum pages then unless continuously "bumped"? Otherwise I don't get the point, sorry, I'm not criticising (don't really care) Im just curious.

This guy sure sounds mysterious without that last noun :)

Thanks for the review BTW!

I still don't get the point then, but thank you for the reply :)
Heh, this might be one of those cheesy games i want to try just so that i can see it with my own eyes.

I remember the review of the first Pahtasmagoria game in finnish gaming magazine "Pelit" years ago: The only good thing they mentioned of the game was that:

"The box is made of biodegradable material".

..well thats something i suppose ;)

---

can we have review of: Revenge of the Sunfish? its supposedly "quite something" and i have yet to dare to give it a try myself..

Feel free to ask the topic's creator for the reason. Sometimes, topic creators do it to promote a game (even if it's only for a short time).

I was just curious it seemed odd to see a review of a gog game on the forum, I have seen reviews of non-gog games here for obvious reasons, it just seemed unusual to see a gog game that has provisions for reviews already, I can even understand it as a "discussion" thread, but as it was labelled "review" I was just surprised and thought there was a specific reason to do this, that I wasn't aware of.
Thanks again :).
