So, nobody played it yet? I'm on the hide and seek... Tried different strategies. Hide - one of them always finds me. Turn on the lights - they turn them back off. Make a stronghold in my bedroom and hide under the bed when somebody enters - near the end I had my progress drained and soon got caught.
It is an interesting game. Quite creepy. I felt the Void more alien than creepy but this one feels more personal.
I like it.

Also, you are supposed to go and fix the breaches into the house BEFORE the guests appear, I think. Will try again.
Ehhh, this game doesn't seem like their style at all, cheap looking indie art-work (like something out of 'Don't Starve').

Pathologic was just so weird and screwed up that even playing it is an uncomfortable experience, this just looks.... bland.

The Void and Cargo also were rather striking. This is simpler, but it is also very different.
Honestly, I feel it is creepier than The Void, which again, felt mostly alien AND sad.
Void was waaaay more creepy than this looks, I wonder why they are ditching their standard first-person 3D style

The Void's screenshots look creepier, but this game is actually a good bit creepier than The Void is, due to its sound design.
And I guess they wanted to make something different. Like all of their games, this one plays completely different from the other things that they have made, and this one would quite simply not work as a first person game.
This game is very atmospheric and creepy. To me at least. Does it ever storm or rain?
So I've been interested in this game since the Kickstarter but I'm meh about Kickstarters and the waiting period between paying for and getting to play the game.

Is the game worth its current price or should I wait for a sale?

Well, it's been mentioned in another thread that it will make it's way here. Though I have been unable to find confirmation of this. If you can find out anything, it might be worth waiting just to get it DRM free here(and I will pick it up again here if it makes it). That being said, I've had some time to play it on and off today. I have no idea what the hell I am doing atm, but it is interesting and fun. The atmosphere is haunting. I really enjoy Ice-Pick Lodge's style of weirdness and Knock-knock is definitely full of strange. Which to me is a good thing. With that being said, I feel it is 100% worth the current price thus far, but that's my opinion. I am enjoying this game. And with today's weather patterns this game has been coincidentally appropriate. Or is it coincidence?...

Would like to add:

Even though I have no idea what the hell I am doing; I still feel compelled to keep exploring and doing it. I had these same sensations with the Void. My brain finds this type of seemingly abstract activity strangely satisfying. I also feel this way when playing games like SotS:TP. There is a surrealish atmosphere that oozes from this game that induces feelings in me of an almost dreamlike (or rather nightmarish) quality.

From the official site:
"As of now, the game's only available on Steam, but on Monday we'll make non-Steam versions (for PC, Mac, Linux) available on our site. Stay tuned. We'll also be available on GOG later, if that's the distribution platform of your choice."

It's unfortunate that they didn't update their site on release day or I would have waited. Thanks for the link.

Not true, IPL! :) I got non-Steam version as a backer reward (but it's not DRM-free - the first time you install it requires on-line activation). Guess they just didn't put up a store page for it.
Anyways, at the moment I'm in the last guest segment (or at least it appears to be the last from looking at the mind map) and I'm trying to explore the other side of the breaches and the corridors. Somehow, that monster on the mind map doesn't look like something I should be rushig to meet.
Finished the game. Loved it. Recommend it to every psycho-horror fans (but you might want to wait until it reaches GOG).
