Dave_Scoffin: the story desperately needs to be continued in some form, it's my favourite game story
With all due respect, no it doesn't. Could you imagine what they would do if they came out with a new Blood Omen or Soul Reaver game? It would be like a
Call of Duty first-person shooter game with vampires and werewolves, with some awful
outsourced multiplayer elements for good measure. They'd then tie it in to Rockstar Club, GFWL, Steamworks, Tages, SecuROM and Battle.net.
I'm joking of course, but you get the picture.
StingingVelvet: I officially have never played any of them, which I feel is a tragedy. Honestly I want to play Legacy of Kain 2 first, seems the most my style, but I worry the story won't make sense since there were 3 games before that.
tinyE: The time frame skips around a lot so I don't know if order in imperative. I've only ever played the 1st and the last, just bought the middle two. We'll see how lost I get! :D
Defiance apparently does a lot to tie up the divergent storylines between the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver games (which was apparently necessary due to the massive mistakes made by Blood Omen 2's developers). I wouldn't know, as I'm stuck on one really pesky platforming section, where I have to jump between rocks in a pool full of water (I'm playing as Kain, so water = instadeath). The stupid camera is what's killing me. I'm really considering shelling out for a Logitech controller, since I'm playing with mouse and keyboard. It's a pity, because all of the Legacy of Kain games on GOG work really well in WINE.
