zM: ...heh, what about at GOG :D ?? Anyway, i'd try for the really classic Dark Forces, but not much more. I mean, i had Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight wich i just gave away 2 months ago (!!!) - and that was the DVD-casing DF: JK + expansion where you play as Mara Jade IIRC. Nice game at the time, but not really a replay for me. Also i game away Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast LONG before Dark Forces II because it was such a ridiculous game for the time.
Although it used the Q3A engine, most game world was silly window dressing, there was little fun, almost on rails experience. Then the stupid late levels where one could tear his hair off due to stupid platform-gameplay inside reactors and stuff. No really.
Also, the 'oh-look-there's now several lightsaber-wielding mini-bosses everywhere-and-they-all-have-zero-character'... and the multiplayer was hectic... people force jumping in CTF all the time and you can't hit sh1t. Or, go to a lightsaber-only server and enjoy the silly melee combat partially screwed by lightsaber dorkiness play, or force powers galore.
Meh, Jedi Outcast = avoid like the plague. That's my experience, at least... it seems Jedi Academy improved this whole thing somewhat, but i was so burned by Outcast that i just moved on... oh well... might be diferent for other, i suppose...
WHAT? You thought all that about Outcast? I loved that game to death, especially the multiplayer. That alone makes the pack an instant buy for me.
