KOTOR 2. I had a copy on standby ready for the fan patch that was supposed to save this game. When it was released it was pretty apparent that nothing could save this game. Even if every quest was finished and every bug and imbalance fixed it would still have been a very, very tedious game.

GameRager: So you're onf of them "twitch" gamers then?
No.

GameRager: I've never finished it but only because I cannot play really open games with multiple choices without certain....issues...becoming apparent. I do finish a bit every so often though. I love Peragus though, even if it is a training level.....and some of the planets as well.
I love a good open world game. Admittedly there are those that could really use more of a sense of direction. When you wind up feeling lost with no clue what to do next and it turns out you need to do some completely unrelated task some place to advance I tend to be inclined to chalk that up to bad design.

But overall I much prefer them to games forcing you down what is effectively a very narrow corridor. Not that I hate corridor shooters, it's just that they're never going to top my list of favourite games.

My main problem with KOTOR 2, imbalances aside, is the number of boring monotonous chore quests you're sent on. You're supposed to be a Jedi. Not a work experience kid. That on top of all the unfinished stuff is just too much. I loved Precursors despite its flaws because it knew how to be fun. KOTOR 2 doesn't.
Dead Space - about an hour before I just got so annoyed by that god awful over the shoulder crappy view that just forced me to take the game straight back and get something less annoying.
It's tie.

The last Remnant, I liked the first 10 hours, got gradually more bored for the next 25 ot the point that I thought there was no point continuing, and so cheated. It then took a further 15 hours *with the cheat* to complete it. Steam confirms I spent 50 hours on that game. I did at least get 10 hours of enjoyment from it.

Whereas Gothic 4 I enjoyed the first hour, then thought "this is looking a bit samey now". 20 hours after that I found that the ending was the culmination of hours of dissapointment. They didn't even care enough about the game to give it a decent finish.
Hmm... I played about 8-10 hours into Final Fantasy VIII because my buddy insisted that it was terrific, but I didn't enjoy one minute of it. In particular, I hated the characters, especially the snotty emo punkass that got the leading role. Once I got to the maze where you have to find some kid's ID card, I quit.
top gun on steam its a bad port of the ps3 version, its a small game yet requires a 512mb gfx card[game size is 350mb] but i could not resist buying it and playing it till i heard enough of the top gun theme, goose and mavs talks and finally the achievement "You can be my wingman anytime..."

and tomb raider games .....no comments

GTA:San Andreas, hated every inch of it. Don't know exactly how long i played it, i did all the missions, didn't care for the extra collectable BS. Had to finish it, because friends had this dumb philosophy: "you cannot judge a game you didn't finish/play long enough". I've challenged that dumb idea countless times, and SA was the last straw. Now i can say "it sucks, i've finished it".
I could've spend that time replaying Dune 2 for the 1212331th time. At least friends don't bug me with that line anymore.

Arteveld: "you cannot judge a game you didn't finish/play long enough".
There is a new line now. It's "You cannot judge a game if you have not purchased it." so even if you rent it or borrow it from a friend and play through it completely these type of people will claim you still can't judge it.

Anyway, the game that comes to mind for me is FF10. I started getting bored pretty far in and figured I'd just beat the game to see the rest of the story.
Still on the last boss. It just got that boring for me.
And Shadow Hearts.
I think I just don't like turn based games.
Starcraft. I wanted to finish the single player campaigns but the game bored me to tears, mostly because I played Warcraft 2 way too much. I started using cheats halfway through the zerg campaign to get through it quickly. I don't think I've ever bothered to finish another game that I hated.
The only game I didn't just open up the menu and hit the "exit to windows" after playing through enough to decide I did not like it was the BTTF Telltale game demo. And only then just because I was bored and had nothing else to do really.

EDIT: Oh, and Starcraft. Cannot believe I forgot that. Played through all of those campaigns to see if there really was that so-called "brilliant story".

Final Fantasy III (or VI, if you want to go by Japanese numbering). I guess I wanted to see why people seem to jizz themselves over Final Fantasy stories. I got about 2/3 of the way through before figuring it's just the standard "gather a group of whiny twats to defeat the big bad whiny twat who's trying to destroy the world for no apparent reason" JRPG fare, and the people who seem to think it's the greatest thing on the planet since sliced bread are simply morons.
It's a close one. I completed Doom 3 because some people insisted it was a great game. But I can't really say I hated it, I just found it kinda boring.

The game I've spent most time playing while I hated it would be Far Cry 2.

Mainly because I felt it was downright boring, but had bought it and people kept insisting it was a great game and I just needed to play to a part near the beginning before it got really great. 9 hours of gameplay I went and decided to uninstall the game.

There was good things to say about it though. It made me want to go back and try to go back into Boiling Point again. Good idea, bad execution and controls, but ways more interesting to play than Far Cry 2
roughly 4 hours into FF7

god that game is bad.

Also FEAR probably a bit more but the hate for that game arrived a bit later. Starts interesting but gets repetitive, boring and just simply uninteresting fairly quickly. Scary stuff were alright but for them to actually be scary i have to get into the game and that always takes some effort.
I had so much more fun with any other generic shooter and a paint commercial on tv managed to scare me more than this game.

this one i am talking about. Thought it was part of the movie I was watching. Almost shat myself :D

Resident Evil 4 and 5.

I love the controls and gameplay changes, but removing zombies killed it for me. Instead, it turned into enemies that were incredibly frustrating to kill since they could use weapons as well, AND take more damage than the damn zombies. I have them both but I rarely replay them.

There are probably a view others but those are the two that stick out the most.
