Stupid social networking, adware, spyware, crapware rubbish. Have your own news feed on the front page. Seriously it's not that hard and this has been complained about for ages, it's bad enough you use them for exclusive promos & competitions.

I think you're being a bit over-dramatic(About the "evils" of social networking sites, I mean.).......just a tad, though.

I agree, which is why I revised my reply. I also agree Gog should inform it's users via the site more about events like these.

Well they have told people here several times to sign up to their twitter feed for future contests/etc there so I assume those who want(ed) to already did(And know when such contests hit the GOG twitter feed.).

Roman5: Well...3D realms did join GOG afterall....
Well, but they did so ages ago and we had not gotten another 3D Realms game until Shadow Warrior came along rather recently. Also, I thought 2k Games or Gearbox had all the rights to the franchise now. I wasnt sure whether 3D Realms would even be able to publish the original two games on GOG anymore.

I think GOG already said they may not release anything, at least they won't release any classic game (I thought there will be no new/indie release, too). They used the website (partly) for the announcement of their great Christmas promo for this week, and IIRC they said there will be a classic for free. It was announced in the latest episode of "This week on GOG".
