keeveek: Oh, yeah.

Keep informing your users via twitter and facebook. It's not like you have a website or anything.

DO YOU GUYS EVER LEARN?!

Roman5: A simple "Nothing today guys, get ready for tomorrow" blue post would have sufficed...
I'm not surprised

SimpleUser: Is that true?! :O
They've only done it a couple of times but it's usually "like us on Facebook and we'll give you X" or "Post a picture or game review etc on Facebook, youtube etc and we'll give you Y" This kind of thing isn't a contest it's free advertising disguised as a contest.

As for my opinion on social networks.... I think they're the worst thing to happen to society in recent years. Everyone's always attention seeking, updating rubbish or posting stupid pictures or commenting on this and that etc etc etc. My other half has a Blackberry which is constantly making noise everytime someone posts something or says something etc and she has to check it just "in case" it's important.

Alot of contests held by companies are curtailed to certain demographics(Alcoholic beverages to only people over 21/etc, some contests to only teens & kids, etc..).....it happens. You can't expect that every contest is going to allow everyone to enter and that those that don't aren't being fair.

Also GOG is being business smart by trying as many venues as possible to get customers to visit the site. They also give away many games on the site & off the social sites as well, so imo they're being more than fair.

Posting pics is fun & some can be cute/funny. Also people have sought attention throughout history...it's human nature in some ways. This isn't to say I think all such attention seeking is good and that all that do it do it for good reasons/in good way......just that people doing such things isn't always a bad thing.

And that's probably the reason why they don't advertise it here, because they can get away with that kind of thing on Facebook but they probably know that a lot of community members would criticize them for it here on the forums. ;)

I know but now it's instant, all the time, everywhere you go and so much of it is frigging pointless in every respect.

I love my alone time and I enjoy being outside the social networking radar. I know if I had an account I'd have most of my lady's family (many of whom I've probably never even met) and most of my family (ditto to met) wanting me to add them and getting offended when I don't. That's not to mention all the people I went to school with who I couldn't care less about and all the recommendations, friends of friends etc.

Social sites aren't you thing, then. That's understandable. That doesn't mean they don't serve a very real/important/good purpose to others, though.

TeT said in the sale thread that we will have one new game and one semi-new game coming out before the end of the year......also another Nethergate fan? What are the odds?
