Well, Magrunner is free now, but is it worth it? Yeah, it's free, so there is no reason NOT to get it, but is it fun? Should I bother downloading it?

User reviews were pretty positive about it. But again It's free!!!!!!!!

I found the puzzles to be reasonably fun, but the story... not so much. And without a story, I lose motivation to solve the puzzles. Played until I got stuck on some level and left it there.

If you like portal, think of this one as it's ugly cousin. If you don't like portal, don't bother.

He's wondering if it's worth the time (and bandwidth) to download it. Could be that his internet has a cap on data transfer and thus he doesn't want to waste it on something he wouldn't actually enjoy playing.

Exactly, maybe he doesn't want possible free crap.
Anyway, even if the reviews say only 7\10, I took the freebie because I don't want regrets later..

It's decent, but don't expect anything great from the story and/or the character development. It also boasts some rather hilariously bad voice acting. On a whole the puzzles tend to be pretty solid, but some can be a bit tedious.

It's a fun game if you're into point-and-click adventures. If not, well, everyone has their eccentricities I suppose :)

I only have it because I clicked on the banner, hoping to get to the store page to see what kind of game it is before deciding whether I want it in my library. Because why would I want something I know I won't enjoy? While it doesn't seem to be the case here, it could be that only a limited amount of copies are available for free, and if me grabbing one of those copies prevents someone who knows they want to play it from getting it for free, then I'd rather that person got it instead.

After looking at the Steam store page for the game (the GOG store page does not appear to be available) it is indeed a game I am not going to enjoy.
