Wishbone: Yeah, I don't think I suffer from excessive gaming either, but I do suffer from excessive game buying.

I stopped buying............ well sort of. I had to snag Civ 5 and the New Fallout..... and a few others.... (ok 10... but it's not a problem I swear... im not an addict...)
I think I play maybe an hour per day now......... :(

akwater: Ok recently I got roughly half of GoG's Catalog, and then about 25 other games my PC. Then I had went to the PX on base, and got a PS3 and then proceeded to order another 30 or so games for that. That in addtion to my Wii and 360 ps2, psp and Ds has me wondering... Is it possible to have to many video games?
While my time is broken between working ten+ hours a day, hitting the gym for an hour, getting back to my hooch and playing XYZ for about an hour or watching a movie. I just kinda went shit, ive got 12 games that just got here from Amazon and I dont know what I want to start 1st.
What are your thoughts?

If that is close to your total video games I can tell you have have 100s more and I haven't hit any kind of mythical "too many" wall. Sometimes I have to decide what I want to play and this wastes 20 minutes, but that's okay in the grand scheme of things. If it's eating into other important budget items, then you should slow your acquisitions of new video games (new to you, I mean) as you seem to be slower at consumption than acquisition.

I added up how much I have spent on Video Games this year.......and dropped all my new preorders (except Civ 5 and Fallout). It is pretty high amount... (not including things like donations to the humble or giveaways.....yeah... im done till christmas)

Lol well if it makes you feel any better tons of people probably spent even more on their hobbies this year. But yeah, buying for me is a consideration of budget and opportunity cost. It doesn't take very many titles to exceed what I can get through under normal circumstances.

Well to put it this way... I went on Amazon and canceled my Preorders for PS3 games that by it self was almost $3,000 (with shipping im sure it would be more) lol.

1) If you're ordering that much on Amazon you should have Prime so shipping is free.
2) Holy crap dude! I am way to big of a cheapskate to buy that many games at new retail prices. Yeah, I can see why you canceled them.
I have 2 Amazon pre-orders right now: Fable III (which I am sure to regret) and the new Caslevania (which looks awesome with all that voice talent). Both came with 20 bucks of video game credit, so I can get 40 bucks worth of 10-20 dollar titles this fall too.
I have been reducing my game purchases in the last year. I have dozens of titles that I haven't finished, and I no longer care if I miss the occasion great. Other than the rare Steam purchase (on sale), and a GOG title here and there, I haven't bought anything over $10 in half a year. (Other than Red Dead Redemption.)
There's a point of diminishing returns with most things, and if I can't get around to playing them, I don't see the point in buying them. If I eventually catch up, the games I missed will be less expensive anyways.

Prime is for the states :( They wont ship to APOs for free. Steam fixing my CC issues has reallllllly hit me, lol I just gotta resist the temptation of buying....

it all depends on how much it is, normally shipping if 5 to 10. Shipping stuff out of here on the other hand, I sent a some documents and it cost 40 and then took 3 weeks to get there...
