Paul_cz: Unlike Origin, Steam at least does offer some good features (ingame overlay, friends, screenshots, cloud saving, good interface, possibility to add nonsteam games, convenience).
That is why I do not mind Steam, but running Origin seems pointless.
SimonG: Youd
do know that Origin has plenty of those features. From a pure "client" based view it is also a lot slicker and less cumbersome. The store sucks, however. I never bought anything on Origin.
And so far there are only three game that actually require Origin to run, but you can register your EA games from whatever service they came from and play them without Origin running. And Origin doesn't care where you got your DLC from, unless Steam.
I use both services, so I'm open to games on both.
Hmmm, I do have it installed and I own several games on it (BF3, Saboteur..), but I somehow did not notice those features (I also did not run it for quite some time, maybe I do not even have updated version).
Well if it has them, then my Steam preference comes purely from design and the amount of friends and games I have there.
I completely disagree about slickness of the client, Steam (especially with pixelvision skin) looks just fabulous and is great to use...while Origin..ugh.
