Screenshots are dark and small... the game doesn't sound bad though.
This looks really, really cool if they can deliver on what they're promising. Very original idea. I'm a little worried about the morals system being a drag.
Sort of looks like it uses the cube engine.
What irks me is the episodic bit. It is really a minor quibble but I like complete games instead of waiting God knows how long for the next episode. Other than that, the game looks fun, maybe it will be the Deus Ex of the Wild West??? :hopechange:
The Wild West is a brilliant, underutilised setting for an RPG, but I hate and despise episodic gaming. It's just an excuse for making you pay more money for less game, and in some cases the later episodes are delayed or never made at all (Sin Episodes, Penny Arcade Adventures, Half-Life 2: Episode 3, etc.).
Reminds me of Red Dead Revolver (if it was a morrowind mod). God I love that game....
Coming out with a sequel to RDR, too.
I'm nitpicking but....
Why are all of the light sources torches? Also, the frontier begins in 1774? Try again. First perm settlement in Kentucky was then (and it was Virginia, not Kentucky, until later). The guy also seems confused about Daniel Boone. He doesn't actually fit into the game's timeline. Someone failed history.... Too bad. Could've been a decent edutainment title. I don't get why it's not going that way. The dev obviously doesn't have the money to buy a decent looking engine.

Edutainment? Since when were western shooters and RPGs about education? I've never played one that wasn't the stereotypical quick drawin, saloon fightin, indian shootin, mexican... toastin and horse ridin. And theres always some mine and some fat bad guy whos usually a prospector...
What in the world? But that's kinda cool for a short game to pick up and put down.
I don't know, it seems like they don't even know what kind of game they're out to make. It's like Fallout 3, but it lets you do stuff like get married? As I remember, Fallout 3 was all about getting the biggest gun and getting the most headshots.
I generally look out for such games, but I can't get appealed if I don't even know what the game's about, which is what seems to be their main predicament as I see it. I hope the website gets updated with a features page. Considering they're actually planning to release it in Autumn, it's quite surprising they don't have a trailer yet

Tried Telltale's games? us$35 for 5 eps of monkey island is top value, much the same for Sam & Max and Wallace & Gromit

Oregon Trail, much? Railroad Tycoon? There's about a dozen others in the same vein, too. Oregon Trail is one of the best selling games of all time. Very educational. I always think of that when I see a western game.
You can get away with bad graphics in edutainment (it's actually a plus, since school districts have old PCs). Most of the recent games use flash.
I don't think this title is well-developed enough for commercial release. Like someone else said - not even a trailer? It all seems muddled. The underlying mechanics of RPGs are just too complex for beginning devs, esp when you're not using a system that already exists. I have some statistics background, and I wouldn't dream of going near them, even though they're my favorite genre.
