cioran: Too bad. Could've been a decent edutainment title. I don't get why it's not going that way. The dev obviously doesn't have the money to buy a decent looking engine.
ovoon: Edutainment? Since when were western shooters and RPGs about education? I've never played one that wasn't the stereotypical quick drawin, saloon fightin, indian shootin, mexican... toastin and horse ridin. And theres always some mine and some fat bad guy whos usually a prospector...
Oregon Trail, much? Railroad Tycoon? There's about a dozen others in the same vein, too. Oregon Trail is one of the best selling games of all time. Very educational. I always think of that when I see a western game.
You can get away with bad graphics in edutainment (it's actually a plus, since school districts have old PCs). Most of the recent games use flash.
I don't think this title is well-developed enough for commercial release. Like someone else said - not even a trailer? It all seems muddled. The underlying mechanics of RPGs are just too complex for beginning devs, esp when you're not using a system that already exists. I have some statistics background, and I wouldn't dream of going near them, even though they're my favorite genre.
